Refilling a Motolite Maintenance-free battery

My Avanza's Motolite Gold battery has just past the 21 month warranty. It's still working well, but I tried to open it and it looks like it needs more fluid. So I bought an Absolute distilled drinking water and added fluids on it.

Is it OK to do that on a maintenance-free battery just to extend its lifespan?

Yup, that’s perfectly ok to top-up fluid in a MF battery. It will actually prolong its life further.

Is it mandatory that battery distilled water be used? Shouldn't a regular drinking distilled water suffice when refilling MF battery?

i rather choose those distilled/bottled drinking water than so called distilled water for batteries. and who knows kung totoong distilled nga ba talaga sila(latter).

kaya nga bro na OA-han ako sa reaction nung usisero sa shell nung nilagyan ko ng absolute yung battery ng friend ko na natuyuan ng battery fluid. sinabihan ko nalang na matagal ko na nagawa ito; pero sa totoo lang kakatanong ko lang yata dito tsikot or PDVD kung pwede or hindi hehehe

that's how it was done in the olden days.
any type distilled water will do.

nice thing with distilled drinking water,
i do not fear putting it in the battery, or to drink it, or to wash with it.

but i am not sure, which is cheaper.

I actually have a 10 liters bonus distilled water and just transfer it to 1 smaller bottles.
