    It's not particularly necessary for the ordinary Joe.

    But if you have high-current accessories like a beefed-up sound system (amps, sub-woofers, et al.), then maybe it can help. I say 'maybe' because it depends from vehicle to vehicle. Some vehicles have better quality wirings than others.

    If you want to "science the hell out of it", you'll need to go through some electrical basics of Ohm's Law.... particularly on current capacity, voltage drops, etc. based on the type and size of cables and their terminals.
