Hi guys, baka me tip lang kayo regarding sa recent problem ng auto ko. Pag di ko sya nagagamit for 3-4 days, di ko na ma-start yung makina. Yung battery ko, motolite na kabibili ko lang at wala pang isang buwan. Yung auto ko kakapacheck up ko lang sa CASA (50k checkup) at wala naman silang findings. Pinacharge ko yung battery ko at pag na-start ko na yung engine, nagtry akong disconnect yung positive terminal ng battery to check my alternator, ok naman sya kahit buksan ko yung ilaw, aircon, etc.. Kaso pag di ko ginamit for 3-4 days humihina yung charge ng battery at ayaw ma-start ng engine. Any idea?

pls don't do it again you might damage so electronic components of your car like the PCM (ECU)
normally sa 50k service or any mileage service ay hindi nachecheck yan ng mga dealer tech unless specify mo specifically kung me problem (but they are supposed to). kailangan mo pa ampere-draw test ang car mo kung may excessive draw, some electricians know how to the that

Hehehe, naalala ko yung mekaniko dito sa talyer na malapit sa amin. Kasi, malakas ang static ng kotse ko noon, talagang parang kuryente na nakaka-shock. So I asked him to do an ampere-draw test. He just gave me a "what-the-hell are you talking about" look, sabay sabi na wala daw silang equipment to do that.

Anyway, to the OP: something is grounded. Try mo pa-check sa reputable auto electrical shops like Rey's or Wizzards

medyo sinipag ako mag type kaya nag post ako ng ampere-draw test procedure: look mo na lang (if iinterested ka) sa post ni simplicity titled shorted/grounded ?

rey's sa marikina...coming from marcos hiway, turn left ka sa kanto ng sta lucia mall...actually you must take the u-turn slot.

simula dun mag 500 m ang rey's electrical sa left side.

dalaw hunch ko... battery is brandnew but not yet fully charged...drive it daily on long distances sana. the other is baka grounded (a small electrical drain).

if grounded, kailangan mo lang hanapin yun shorted wires.
if not ye fully charged sorry, you'll need to use it more often.

meron ka bang pina-install recently na car electronics, like stereos, active subwoofers or amplifiers? i have heard of instances where they can drain batteries if improperly installed.

Pagnagstart what sound do you hear? A click? Slow crank? Really dead?

After a start what happens to your charge light? Does your charge light flicker or stay lighted during your travel?

pag nagstart, tick lang.. pero nakailaw yung mga alarm sa dashboard which is normal during startup, kaso di nabubuhay yung makina. at saka wala rin po akong bagong install na electronic gadget sa auto. pinacheck ko sa casa pero wala silang nakitang kakaiba, they even checked the compartment light kasi raw baka hindi namamatay, pero ok naman. tapos nagcheck din sila kung grounded, hindi naman grounded. anyway, since nakikipark lang ako, posible rin na tunog ng tunog yung alarm ko (hehe). ang ginagawa ko ngayon pag di ko gagamitin ng matagal yung auto, tinatanggal ko yung negative terminal. di ko rin madala araw araw kasi masyadong matraffic dito sa ortigas after office

this happened to me just last month, kung ano ano din ang ginawa pati alternator pinalitan..the problem same parin, the car wouldnt start "click" lang after mga 3-4 days...finally after trying and checking everything...i just bought a new battery..tapos ang problem! sayang lang dami ko ginastos na kung ano anong pinalitan cable etc..try to replace your battery malamang defective yun..

battery drain, you'll need a multitester to do this yourself by checking all circuits from the fuse bank (and from the battery itself for additional accessories). any power draw higher than 40ma means a short if the engine is off and all accessories are off. or just go to wizzards.

eto suggestions ko:

- check your electrical, get second opinion sa ibang pagawaan. dalin mo sa electrician talaga. possible na grounded or may mali sa electrical mo. after dun at ganun padin...
- use other battery to see kung ganun padin. makipagpalit ka sa kakilala mo. baka palpak na battery mo kahit bago. may warranty naman yan, madali lang yan papalitan.
