nung monday ayaw magstart ng sasakyan. a quick check with a VOM revealed that the battery(Motolite Gold N40 ) only had around 5 volts. nanghiram ako ng battery sa kapitbahay, and managed to get the car started. i immediately swapped in the old battery para macharge. at first the voltage measured 13.4 volts. However, after i cleaned up(mga 5 - 10 minutes lang un), naging 11.8 volts na lang, then ngayong 8pm naging 11.6 volts.

so far i can only think of two possibilities:

    1. battery is about to conk out -- kaso wala pang 1 year

    2. shorted wiring/grounded ung car -- i have my doubts about this though; di ba pag shorted/grounded, mas mabilis pa siyang madidiskarga?

the only thing that was repaired recently was the airconditioning; bale pinalitan ng surplus compressor. But i managed to use the car over the weekend(i even got stuck in horrendous traffic sa EDSA)

paano kaya machecheck kung shorted/grounded nga?

pa check mo sa battery center or maanda kung saan mo nabili.

what a coincidence, kanina on the way out of dela rosa parking ayaw mag start yun patrol, puro tick, tick lang. masikip naman bat cable. push start ayaw din. laylay dila nun three people na nagtulak. jump start ayun gumana. then up to now ok pa siya gang umuwi ako. bought it last oct 05, 2005. eh wala pang 18 monsths. sana sira na para palitan...hehehe

Quick and not so accurate check: Tanggalin mo lang wires ng battery ... If the voltage goes down below 12v DC without any load connected to it, it's saying goodbye. If it retains the charge, the problem lies within the wiring or whatever's connected to it.

Pinakamabuti eh dalhin mo na lang sa battery shop.

i'm a little embarassed to report this...pero 1 year old na pala ung battery :D expired last week. buti di ako natirik sa edsa nun! 3 hours in traffic!

anyways, i checked the voltage kaninang umaga: 11.6v. Kung grounded nga, di ba dapat mas mabilis ang pagdischarge, and the voltage level should be waaay below 11 volts?

tanong lang mga peeps, pag ni-replace ba ang batery mo within the warranty period 18 months ulit ba yun or yun remaining warrantied months nalang? Looks like i'm taking my battery back to the store. Ayaw ng mag start yun patrol this morning.
