    Hinde ko po kasi malam kung anu talaga may problema sa oto ko kasi pag naka start ung oto ko ang reading ng volt meter ko nasa 14-14.3 pag naka start ung oto tas pag bagong patay naman ung engine nasa 12.8! mahilig po kasi ako mga sounds pag naka park sa school parking lot ehh napapansin ko po nitong recently na pag nag sosound ako kahit mga 10mins. or less lang laging diskaraga na ung battery ko, ehh wala naman po ako subs isa amp lang na 500watts tas ung seperates ko un lang tas ang reading nalang po sa volt meter na analog is less than 11 tas dun naman sa digital low nalang ang lumalabas! pero ang napansin ko kahit sobra hina na ng battery ko tumutyloy parin ng star ung oto ko un nga lang ang tagal bago mag start!

    Pero napansin ko nga po pag start na wala na sya problema!

    Definitely you have a problem with battery.If you're into sounds,You should try to invest in capacitor.That way you will not drain your juice.

    Yup, that's battery bro. AFAIK, if it were your alternator, you're battery wouldn't charge back kasi you're alternator takes over pag tumatakbo na. Which at the same time charges your battery when running. Your amp would definitely take up energy from your batt, not enough to totally drain it though. Dati napatiran ako alternator belt but I was still able to run a km to the shop, nabilib ako sa battery ko, hehe.

    havr your battery checked. pero for sure, it needs replacement na.

    to clarify, are you using a regular battery or a deep cycle battery?

    Looks like a battery problem, how often do you turn on your radio with your engine off?

    Mamar, Optra ba tsikot na binabangit mo?? pag underwarranty pa siya dalhin mo sa chevy dealership na binilhan mo at papalit mo iyun battery, malamang binigay sa iyo iyun hindi maintenance free... btw... libre iyun ha wala ka babayaran sa kanila ni isang kusing... at insist mo maintenance free ilagay nila...

    pag napalita na iyan palagay ka ng grounding wires, usually may nabibili iyan sa mga autoshop... kung kaya ng budget mo lagyan mo ng blue razin volt stabilizer...

    tapos whag mag stambay sa car at mag sounds palagi, bumili ka ng ipod or mp3 players instead and go to the library at least airconditioned pa at makapag basa basa ka ng mga libro diyan... okay

    nagsi self discharge ba battery mo overnight? try mo after turning off your engine at night if it will start the next morning (without using your battery)

    pag nag discharge, malamang you have battery problem...

    pag hindi, both your battery and alternator are in good conditions.

    alternator: (14 -14.3V) good charging

    battery after turning off engine: (12+V) fully charged

    cguro, you shoud consider the ff:

    1. ano reserve capacity ng battery mo? maybe you need to upgrade it together w/ your alternator

    2. Starting a car needs a high cranking ampere (around 600-700CCA or 750 - 875CA for 4-cyl engine). Car batteries are not designed to discharge below 90%

    w/ 500w amplifier, you are discharging your battery at 41amperes * 12V. definitely, your battery will not last...

    if you are using low-maintenance battery, check the electrolyte level since discharging the battery will loss electrolyte. Charging battery below minimum electrolyte level will also damage your battery. This is the problem of MF battery cause no provision for adding water unless you have the courage to uncover the warranty seal.

    Some tips: when replacing battery, look for fresher one. wet batteries sitting beyond 6 months on display racks are no good.

    after the warranty period of your MF battery, tangalin mo yung sticker to uncover the cell opening, sigurado yan konti nalang electrolyte nya or baka yung ibang butas ubos na tubig. Dagdagan mo ng tubig para madagdagan pa buhay baterya mo

    wala pang 2yrs ung battery ko kaso un nga lang bihira lang nagagamit ung oto, minsan nga 2 weeks straight hinde na iistart ung oto!

    12.8 po pag bago patay ung engine pero after 1min. ng patugtog (mahina lang) nagiging 11 nalang at halos ayaw na mag start!

    just want to add some questions and info from fellow tsikoteers...

    kung sakaling palakihan ko ang battery A, kailangan bang palitan din ang alternator?

    any useful links bout this.....

    not necessary if you dont modify or add electrical load to your battery.

    pero pag pinalakihan mo battery mo coz nagdagdag ka ng electrical load (sounds, alarm, electronic device, etc) you need to upgrade also you alternator para hindi ma undercharge battery mo... dapat maibalik ng alternator yung nawala o na discharge from battery

    mamar: observe your battery kung mabilis mag discharge kahit d ginagamit... kc baka ala namang problem sa battery mo ngaun. either kc magpalit ka ng battery w/ the same size kung talagang sira na battery mo ngaun or upsize ka ng battery baka d kaya yung load mo.

    2 years na pala eh. palitan mo na yan. add to the fact na di ginagamit everyday kaya di nagchacharge regularly. maybe what you can do is replace your batt tapos kapag long stretches na di ginagamit yung car, start one every 3 days for mga 5-10 minutes para makapagcharge siya.

    salamat mga bosing tingin ko battery na nga kasi kanin pag park ko nung oto tinaas ko ng sabay sabay ung 4 na window tas nung pag tingin ko sa volt meter mula sa 14 naging 12 nalang tas nung naka taas na ung mga windows dahan dahan nang tumaas ulit ung volts ulit sa 14!

    tas napapansin ko din po sa oto ko pag medyo mahina ung battery edi mahirap po mga start tas pag nag start na biglang mag aalar pag ka start nung oto! bakit kaya?

    lagi lang po kasi ako busy kya hinde ko pa ma pa check ung oto eh!

    I have a similar problem.. On my way home yesterday, the battery indicator turned on. But my car still started when I turned off the engine and started it again. I had it checked today at a Motolite shop in Espana thinking that the battery is the problem, (its already 2 yrs plus old) but the shop told me that it's the alternator that has a problem not the battery. My car is a 96 mitsubishi galant V6 automatic. Can you give me some suggestions?

    Where can have it checked?
    If in case I need to buy a new alternator how much is a brand new and a surplus?
