I think that would be with the lights on. I'm not sure. On some batteries it is stamped in detail as to how they computed the reserve capacity.

Buy maintenance-free batteries for less corrosion on the engine compartment.

Typical brands which I've used are Motolite (Calcium), AC Delco, and Interstate. The record of the Motolite MF is spotty. Daming nasisira b4 expiration of the 18month warranty. AC Delco and Intersate batteries did better. Sometimes they last up to 3-4 years.

I just wanted to get your thoughts on battery brands today. I just replaced my Motolite 2SM MF Excel battery after 2 1/2 years. When I went to purchase the same battery, the retail price was a whopping PHP 5,200! I recall paying about PHP 3,400 about 2 years ago. I went to another store and purchased an Outlast 2SM battery instead at PHP 3,300.00 only (15 months warranty), may additional trade-in rebate pa of PHP 200, so PHP 3,100 net lang. The Motolite Excel battery I purchased for my Carnival last year at PHP 5,000 is now PHP 6,500! The dealers said that imported ones are cheaper and that Motolite is the most expensive. Would anybody know why?

    "Tested na pangmatagalan"

FWIW, the Die Hard battery available in the US sells for $120 (roughly PhP6,000). I have one in my car but the date said it was made in 2001 pa. Never needed any boost for the three years I've owned my car, and yet I also give assistance to friends who need any battery boosting. Mine though is a diesel type rated at 880CCA, and it has a three year warranty.

You really get what you pay for, but you must also know what type of battery you'll need. There are types that are built for cars with a lot of electronics (deep cycle yata tawag nila doon) and there are those that need a lot of cranking power (like the one in my diesel). So know what you need and get the best brand, then look for the best price. Good luck!
