fuse on battery for sub woofer

hi guys gaano ka importante maglagay ng fuse para dun sa battery para sa sub woofer ung akin kasi walang kinabit... para san po ang use nito?para lang ba sa pang protect short circuit?

You must install a fuse within a few inches of the battery. That fuse is to protect your car not your sound system. Its job is to blow and cut power from the battery in case there is a short or your power cable is grounded. If you have a short and no fuse.......... :boom1:


Make sure you buy and install a waterproof fuse holder. Its not expensive. I bought mine for around 200 pesos. The fuse amperage must be a higher than the total ampers of your amp/s.

The fuse on your amp, if it has one, is there to protect your amp. If your amp is not fused, install one a few inches from your amp. No need to install fuse on speakers.

wala rin kasi fuse yung sakin... i'm planning to install one, though. nakakalimutan ko nalang kasi medyo busy sa school. actually, when we installed my amp, the wiring kit i bought came with a plastic fuse holder. di lang ako sure kung waterproof since Euro R lang sya. la naman problems sa system ko, pero iba parin may fuse...

Thats the one you have to use, that plastic fuse holder. Cut your power cable(red cable) no more than 20 inches away from your battery, splice your cable apprx. 3/4 of an inch both end, slide that cable to the opening of the fuse holder tighten the hex screw, secured your fuse holder. You may have to buy fuse if dont have one.

Observe safety rule. You must disconnect the battery before start the job.

i think we have the same fuse holder. dont worry as long as water does not enter your fuse holder, your good to go.

for me i uses two fuses one 100amps main fuse to protect the batts and one distribution blocks with 2 50amps fuse to protect my amps

Its not going to meltdown just dont put it in your exhaust manifold. You could screw into your firewall.
