yung IC costs mga 2.4K and an upgrade to a 90A alternator costs 3k, konte lang diperensha kaya nagpa-upgrade na ko...

ok lang ang surplus na alternator. Check mo lang kung compatible yung alternator sa battery indicator mo. Better yet, make sure that the alternator from the car brand similar to yours. Years back, I used an alternator from a diff car brand. Ayaw mag-off yung battery indicator sa dash ko pero wala namang problema until nag-discharge yung battery.

Mga gurus, help naman. I'm in search of a surplus alternator for my Nissan Vanette, looking at a 90A or a 100A. Anybody here know where it is best to buy surplus alternator (aside from Sophia in Imus) in Cavite, Las Pinas, Muntinlupa or San Pedro are and an idea of how much na rin. Thanks.

pag upgrade ng alternator ,kailangan lang rewind yung stator to higher amp assuming na built -in na yung regulator.

    ozcity,
if you upgraded your alternator output capacity, of course something changed and another thing has to change. for example: your output went up from 80 amps to 90 amps, the fusible link or the pacific fuse for the alternator output wire ( the biggest wire connected to the alternator on the BAT terminal) has to change to the new output; next, the output wire from the BAT terminal may have to be changed to a fatter or bigger gauge wire. all the other electrical circuits to the load remains unchanged and since they rely on the battery too for supply.

    Answer:
    Yes. you need thicker wires.

List of wire gauge sizes for your specs. If not google it.
    http://documents.epanorama.net/docum...esistance.html

This is very important information because your wires will and definitely get hot. Imagine this.. 10 Amps X 12 Volts = 120 Watts You get the full 10 amp difference when your alternator is fully charging. The wires can melt. That's IF and only IF your battery is empty or your system suddenly needs 120 Amps. Sample is by starting your car.
