    Guys,

    What alternator (surplus) do you recommend to retrofit (custom bracket) into a Benz W123 200D...

    OEM alt neto 45-50amps lang and it was fitted before the car had A/C and other mumbo jumbo.

    I need a 80amp up jap alternator that will fit into the car with minimal bracket discrepancy.

    Oh, san madaming murang alternator? Sa mga electrical shops mamahal na around 3-4K eh...

    Dave,

    Punta ka sa wizzard. They have used and brand new uprated alternator (100amp and up).

    i don't know sino ang nag-recommend nun, dito yata or sa protegetech. anyway dun ako pumunta. mura lang, 2000 lang yata yung surplus. and no problems so far (2 years na).

    last time I bought a surplus for a nissan - they gave me a nissan alternator with a 90Amp rating - it cost P600 lang. LCN surplus store in Angeles Pampanga (they are direct importer). Mura lang lagi dito pede pa tawad.

    paki lagay naman yung address or area nung mga ni-recommend nyo na shops, di ako familiar dun sa iba. thanks. naghahanap din kasi ako ng alternator

    Yocks at EDSA near Aurora Blvd (tulay ibabaw) right side towards Makati - authorized Bosch repair center where BMW and Porcshe dealers go to for alternator issues.

    Also Villa's electrical in Cubao Aurora corner 18th Av yata, if I remember correctly - same as Yocks, Bosche dealer. Parehong mabait yung owners....

    Wizzard owner is a family friend, but even then mataas yung presyo na pag dumating sa kanila hehe... Same with Tower/Rey's, pag umabot sa kanila mga 1K na patong...

    Hmm, pa post nadin mga ibang addy's, the pampanga thing is tempting :P

    100 amps will be great...

    BTW, pano yung bracket? Any alternator ba pwede gawan ng braket to fit existing mount?

    3000 for a new alternator seems dubious. baka generic yan na walang built-in regulator. last i checked a reconditioned alternator for a starex was almost 6000.

    I was thinking about those sold in Handyman as well, they're usually 2500-3K with a full year warranty.

    Otep, yun sana hanap ko na surplus unit... Swak kasi sa MB mount.
