Regarding sa Pregio and same rin sa mga BESTA owners ang alternator ng Kia vans is scary because our besta and pregio before naka three times na palit ng alternator brand new lagi dahil company and hindi masyado gamit binenta ang mileage is 40k plus and that was in 2003 ang delikado is when nasisira ang alternator brakes nadadamay I suggest buy a really good one and sell the van kasi dangerous Casa mismo ng Kia tinangihan at may kilala ako na dati taga Kia sinabi hindi pang Philippine condition ang mga Kia kaya nag warp ang interior ng mga yan kaya when you see a Korean van na tumirik usually sa traffic and summer season

I BEG TO DISAGREE with You COBALT BLUE, if you dont have personal experience about pregio or any korean cars its a big big mistake to comment i bought mine 1998 brand new in commonwealth auto center. in the 10yrs of my pregio maniwala ka sa hindi wala pang major repair, radiator, alt, tranny all are stock. no overheating kahit ibabad mo sa traffic. i travel baguio, pagupod, cagayan for many times hindi ako pinahiya. sabi nga ng wife ko ang dami nagsasabi ng negative sa pregio but in reality its very nice and comfy and easy to maintain kasi old tech ang engine but decent power.

Now the odo is 135K and still working very fine and smooth. How come its dangerous.... Siguro mas dangerous yung tao na nakainom at wala sa sarili habang nagda-drive

malamig ang a/c ng pregio basta well maintain and no freon leak. hindi mo ba alam in northern province like la union, pangasinan maraming bumibyahe na naka pregio paakyat ng baguio... before i bought my pregio, my family owned a honda civic but binenta namin dahil gas guzzler, masikip, mahal ang parts. mas madali magmaintain ng diesel engine compare sa gas....

baka yung nabili ng company nyo eh lemon van o hindi marunong ang driver....

to kia van owners out there having problems with your alternators.. you may check my post at the kia cars talk in the kia carnival/sedona thread... if your alternator widings are not yet busted or toasted.. most likely you have a problem in the charging pole and wiring to the battery...on you have a LOOSE SOLDERING ON THE DIODES ASSEMBLY!! just make sure that the electrician will re-solder all points no matter how good they look... i had the same problem with 2 kia vehicles i owned.. first is a besta van, when we had alternator problems we immediately replaced with reconditioned surplus but after two years we had the same charging problem.. but this time we didn't replace the alternator but i performed a through check until i discovered LOOSE solder on the diodes causing poor charging.. after re-soldering problem was solved....

when i bought a kia carnival, i also experienced the same poor charging problem, i did the same thing by re-soldering the diodes points.. problem solved!! i have excellent charging!!

also make your charging poles reinforced and make sure no loose connections fromt he alternator to the battery..

just reviving this thread. I think my alternator is broken. 95 corolla big body po ang car.

baka may nagpapalit or nagpa repair ng alternator sa inyo lately. paki post naman po ang price, a year ago pa kasi tong thread. magkano kaya new or surplus alternator? or typical price ng repair?

any good shops in muntinlupa/san pedro area? thanks po!

yesterday nagpaayos ako ng alternator for 96 civic.
ang sira putol ang wiring sa rotor. not charging nakailaw ang batt indictor sa dashboard.

pinagawa sa REC sa bacoor cavite.
pinalitan ng bearing at pinalitan ng rotor na bagong rewind(recondition) para mabilis na iniwan na lang ang luma at yun naman ang gagawin nila para stock nila. cost 1500pesos, 1200pesos for the repaired rotor plus 150pesos X2 for the bearing.

since the battery is now dead, im planning to jumpstart (using other car) para madala sa shop, ok lang naman yun no?

The other day I ran into a little flood. Maybe more than half ng wheel ng Xtrail. When I started the engine nung morning I heard a screeching sound. Ignore ko lang coz I thought nabasa. On the way home, the all the warning lights went on until maubos na yung charge ng battery. Pina tow ko na lang.

Now I switched batteries, nag start naman pero naka ilaw yung Battery icon. Wala naman screeching sound pero mukhang sira na yung altnernator. Pwede pa ba ma-repair yung alternator?

yes, repairable naman halos lahat ng alternator. just bring your alt sa electrical shop para ma-diagnose nila ang culprit

got a 110amp alternator (surplus) for my nissan serena for P3500. Twice ng nasira alternator ko.

am planning to put an ampere gauge or voltmeter sa panel para malaman ko kung sira na uli alternator ko.

as per sa electrical shop na pinuntahan ko, sakit ng some nissan cars and korean models ang alternators. seldom sa toyota and nissan models. mas bihira sa mga high end european cars....

Ayaw bumukas nung windows nung sasakyan ko then sumunod namamatay na yung headlight ko. do you think guys my alternator is the reason for this? newbie here.
