October 19th, 2009 05:06 PM #1Guys I'm New Here..
I'm Planning to buy a car
Yung friend ko inaalok nya sakin yung 98 model na Daewoo Racer nya Manual tranny 1.3 yung engine
The thing is i dont have any idea pag dating sa mga cars
Binaha daw yun pero napaayos nya na at good running condition.. working aircon at wala na daw ayusin
he is selling it to me around 40k
pag nagkataon this will be my very first car.
Thanks in advance!

Since nagsara na daewoo sa Pilipinas, most probably, kokonti na pyesa nito. Nabasa ko nga yung ibang may daewoo racer nagpalit na ng makina. Pero 98 model for 40k? Pwede na paglaruan especially if you are planning to buy a replacement car after ng daewoo mo.
Anyway, lets here from experts who had personal experience with daewoo..

First of all... Daewoo is now owned by GM.
Secondly, Daewoo Racer is the Korean version of OPEL Kadet.
If I were you, I would check the condition of the ECU if this is a fuel injected engine, if not, then you have lesser problems.
If you have any problem with carburation, you can always convert it if need to be run on toyota Aisan 3K or 4K carburator... just have the plenum adaptor fabricated by a reputable machine shop.
You can also always do an engine swap in case masira mo yung engine.
Another economical practical tip is - to treat your engine with NewOil... or something like it. This will displace any trace of moisture still trapped inside the engine internals. You may also use this to treat all the electrical terminal connections.
Just see to it, na totally dried up lahat ng laman loob ng kotse. If it was flooded... it can definitely have molds growing inside already... this can cause sickness to the passengers when inhaled. A good blower/ heater can do the job... also some disinfectants to kill possible bacteria proliferation.
as an aside, in the olden days, anyone who does not move 'ala luksa during Holy Week, especially...
