Quick question... You see an old car sa house nyo... Not running for years.

What part will you check to decide na pwede pa i-restore yung car?

Personally kasi, I check the Strut Tower, Flooring, Roof and yung post where the doors are connected, if they are all still aligned and in good condition.

If the car has a ladder frame, roof and door posts lang...

Sa panahon ngaun I wouldn'restore a car na ginamit ng iba, kahit pinsan o kapatid mo pa

But if it's yours na tinambak mo lang since 90s or 80s alam mo history, pede

The banawe boys and shops are now profiling. If you go there with a car, iba presyo mo. Unlike if mechanic mo nagpunta. Eh ganun din tagain ka din ng mekaniko mo

Sa Fronte ganyan-ganyan ang mga mata ng tao dun, alam din nila na popular sila sa mga tiga-internet

Payo lang id you have a Hyundai, better think twice on restoring

if i were to do a complete restoration on one of my vintage cars na ilang years naka stock, i would check all that you said, tapos i would also check kung madami pang "original parts" ang vintage car na yun. such as the steering wheel, wheels, components, exterior, and interior parts, etc.

some simple parts of a more modern car are cheap and easy to find, but on vintage cars it would cost you tens of thousands just to find a part!

it also depends what your definition of restoration is. by restoration do you mean restoring it to the manufacturers original specification?

or just fix it up, make it look good and install aftermarket parts (that would decrease the value of a car)

Non-Suv or non-pickup are cars not worth restoring if you're gonna use it again in traffic. And also gasoline vans,

Diesel vans pwede pa restore, dun naman sa mga Eurocars, good luck. You'll spend more than say a Nissan Juke or Ecosport, and still di nakaka-siguro na itirik nyan

There are a lot of factors but there is almost one sure thing, you will most likely spend more on than the value of the car if you sell it.

    Things to consider:
    - Rust (you really have to remove fenders and interior parts/carpets, and lift the car even, to get a good picture of the rust)
    - Alignment of panels
    - Interior and exterior trim (this can be one of the real time takers, and cost makers)
    - mechanical condition.
    - your standards of perfection

Case in point: I have a good condition, running and reliable Sentra B13 however it does need a fresh coat of paint. I never gone around to doing it anymore because to my standards i'll probably spend 35-45K to fix the body to the condition i want while the value of the vehicle if it is sold is only 60K-75K (whether it is repainted or not).

i'd check my bankbook, after i check with my wife! she's the one who always castigates me for buying used, when we can easily afford brand new, daw. women! walang love for classic metal...

but seriously, i'd check the body and chassis. especially the suspension points. yes, those you mentioned.
the engine is easy. one can overhaul it to factory spec, or easily transplant another, fully functioning engine there.
the underchassis and wheels, are also fully replaceable.
then, i'd look around if spare parts are still available at a reasonable price.

    i still remember...
"tsip, meron ba kayong ball joints? for escort.." ... sagot nila, "wala", or "meron. kanan lang. two pieces left. 1,000 kesos each".
i envy the toyota guys.."200 kesos oem. 150 kung replacement. kanan at kaliwa. ilan gusto mo?"

but the words of a car aficionado still ring clear to me..
"a vintage car, no matter how much money you pour into it, will still drive like... an old car!"

Depende sa kotse I mean kung vintage talaga. Thats the first thing you have to know. But run of the mills lang na old car never mind. Waste of time and money.

Yun spend na pag restore na Oras i-OT mo na lang if youre an employee sa company para makaipon pangbili ng kahit entry level na modern car or yun maliliit now. Mas maganda pa.

Now Meron mga palusot na "sentimental value" daw. Kalokohan Yan old car is old car kahit Anong gawin mo luma pa Rin.

Unless you're *minicarph na gagawa ng garage pang display ng mga 90's vehicles niya para show off daw sa mga friends niya tapos idol pa niya si ericthecarguy ng YouTube. Car Restoration
