Should we start putting Volvo under Chinese cars? It is now owned by Geely.
We should also create an Indian Cars thread to include Rover and Jaguar which is now owned by Tata Motors.

Point naman dito is kung nasan na, wag ng baguhin.
Ang dating kasi is parang kinakahiya na chinesse car to kaya gusto ilabas sa other topics eh.

I was toying with this thought a few days ago - the difference between MG and Volvo/Jaguar/LR is that MG is funded, designed, and built by the Chinese while the latter brands still keep their respective headquarters in Sweden and the UK, where the cars are designed and built. It's just that the funding came from India/China (just as previously they were all from American money via Ford).

September 20th, 2019 02:05 PM #69i think, the post-er's feeling is that "chinese cars" has an un-pleasant connotation regarding build quality, etc.
he feels MG has improved its product quality significantly, that it has now distanced itself from this "unpleasant connotation".

I don't know why people look down on China products when a lot of the stuff we use are primarily made out of China. US brands saved a lot of money in manufacturing by shipping their manufacturing capability to China. Gadgets, TVs, appliance, shoes, clothes, toys, car parts, and a whole lot of other stuff are made in China.
Based on my observations, the finish and quality of MG is better compared to the other China brands like Haima or BYD or JAC.
Ah ok. So Wala pa Lang locally released na delicą dito. Pinapakyaw kasi Ng mga outdoor lovers...
