Nobody was complaining about Ford’s Fox engine (1.0L turbo). It won many awards. It does have a big oil pan and uses around 4.5L of oil every change. That engine is tuned at 140hp/210Nm for EUDM use.

Honda’s 1.5L turbo engine is also quite versatile with variable tunes. The local Civic is at 174hp while it is tuned at 190hp for use with the USDM CRV and Accord. The new Civic Si has the same engine tuned at 200hp/260Nm.

The reason that most Chinese cars use 1.5L displacement is that their government offers incentives for small engines. VW is the biggest player there and it makes a lot of use of its 1.4L turbo engine. Other manufacturers also have to join the fray. Why make bigger engines when you can make do with ample power using a turbocharger?

Come to think of it, despite such maintenance requirements for 1.5L turbo gas engines, they are still cleaner in emissions compared to the usual Diesel engines.

you mean 4.5 quarts or 4.25859 L for 1L engine, sounds normal to me as a 2NZ-FE 1.3L has 3.7L of of engine oil, okavango is too much for having 6L (FULLY SYNT ONLY) of engine oil for a small 1.5L engine

and that extra 2L of fully synt oil does not come cheap...

4.5L not 4.5 quarts, fully synthetic oil only with 5w20 or 5w30 viscosity. I had a Fiesta 1.0L turbo before. I miss that car. It’s like a daily go kart. It uses the same amount of oil as the 2.0L NA engine on our ASX.

I guess that’s fine as it keeps the engine properly lubricated. My XT with its 2.0L turbo uses around 5.5L of fully synthetic oil.

We all know oil ain’t cheap but we got to accept such things. The folks with diesel vehicles don’t complain about the 7L they need for an even shorter period of time compared to gas vehicles.

Kamusta naman kaya mga recalls? Wala pa naman so far?

Yung Ford Territory first 2 years dama na ata mga recalls. Dyan pa lang makikita kagad hindi reliable ang quality nung model.

^ looks like it pero pwede din na baka mas proactive ang ford pag dating sa car maintenance and safety. kasi recalls cost money and syempre kelangan tipid to maximize da moolah.

and also baka mas pinapalagahan ng ford ang rep nila since may image na sila dito na sirain and mahal ang parts.

btw, ang territory ba chinese import din?

Isa lang ang recall nito, ung battery connector na madaling maputol, but I am worried about the occasional FB shares on transmission issues. Lalo na at na experience ko twice na hindi agad umarangkada kung di ko pa binirit ang gas pedal. 2 years na ung akin and so far no problems pa naman, cross fingers [emoji1696]

pag nagpatawag ang manufacturer ng recall dalhin agad, even wala pang 2 years kahit 2 weeks pa yan para di na magkaproblema sa part of concern ng recall.

Anu yung after 2 years dama yung recalls?
