Meron ka pa rin naman at least 5 years na warranty period.

Not with wet type DCT. Otherwise its pointless to develop this wet type. On the MG dry type DCT, the shudder and jerk is evident on stop and go traffic, same with Kia dry type as well. And this traffic condition heats the clutches quickly on dry type DCT. Ford's DCT is no different. The cooling oil on the wet type DCT has three function, cooling, vibration damper and lubrication. Dig a bit deeper on the differences between dry and wet, and why wet is the better DCT design at the moment.

Yung Ford dry-type DCT problemado talaga kasi dami failures. Our Jetta TDI uses a wet-type DCT and wala naman kami issues with it.

I think from an article eh from the start may issue na talaga yung DCT ng Ford pero tinago lang nila.

Something between Geely and U.P.Town... Or no one is interested in renting the space...

Last month,- may display sila for at least 3 weeks doon sa may area/building ng CBTL-Uniqlo

Yesterday, the Geely display is back in the same spot....

Sa totoo lang yung mga auto ngayon from china, sa presyo at sa warranty na bigay nila parang disposable na ang dating. If you use it for 5 years at may masira in the those years may warranty naman so mitigated kahit papano sakit ng ulo. Then sell it after warranty, get a new one. Parang appliance lang sa bahay.

ito geely thread hndi ko pinapansin kahit lumalabas sa forum activity stream so itong yung first time ko iclick dahil kanina first time ko nakita yung coolray. Bale tinatamad pa ako magbackread. I need to post kung ano nakita ko.

So likod pa lang nakita ko not the sides and the front.

Ang masasabi ko eh type ko yung rearlights. Mukhang technoish....

China pala ito coolray. Marunong sa ilaw ah.

Ewan ko ba. Im a sucker sa mga rearlights. Wala ako makita photo na umiilaw pero ganda sa gabi

    Car News
Geely’s new Icon SUV has an N95-certified air-purification system
It was not a traditional launch
by Leandre Grecia | 2 days ago

    PHOTO: Geely

In 2018, Geely unveiled a concept called the Icon during the Beijing Auto Show. Fast-forward to almost two years after, and the production version has now officially entered the Chinese market via an online launch.

You could say that the online strategy is a bit unorthodox, but it seems to have been effective as Geely received more than 30,000 preorders for the Icon even before it was officially unveiled. But what’s it all about, really?

The Geely Icon is a sporty-looking SUV with a sleek overall shape, but it does look macho and boxy, too, thanks to some rather pronounced character lines on the sides. Up front is an aggressive face highlighted by incredibly thin headlights. Geely’s signature grille design is still prominent, but here it’s boxier than the Coolray’s, which we’re more accustomed to.

Inside, the vehicle clearly has premium aspirations. A combination of white and brown leather with contrast stitching can be found all around the cabin. The A/C vents and the cupholders seem to be formed in the shape of an infinity sign. In addition, there are two massive 10.25-inch displays—one in front of the driver, and one front and center on the dash.

Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 175hp and 255Nm of torque. A mild hybrid setup is available, and the 48V system ups the total output to 188hp and 300Nm. Fuel consumption for this setup is a claimed 17.5km/L. The sole transmission option available is a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and this enables the Icon to do 0-100kph in 7.9sec.

As far as extra features go, the Icon is equipped with a 360-degree-view monitor, but an additional 180-degree view of the side, front, or rear of the vehicle is also available. Lane-keep assist, intelligent cruise control, automatic emergency braking and pedestrian recognition, and one-push automatic parking are also included in the package. Such technologies are enabled by the 12 ultrasonic radars and five HD cameras fitted around the vehicle.

You may also recall that Geely has only recently invested heavily in R&D in order to build ‘healthier cars.’ It looks like the carmaker is keen on achieving that, as the Icon is already equipped with a new intelligent air-purification system that is N95-certified. In light of the novel coronavirus outbreak and the Taal Volcano eruption, we know very well how important technology like that is.

“Geely Icon’s launch not only showcases the core strength of Geely’s global development network, but it also shows our forward thinking and demonstrates the high-tech digital future we are all moving toward,” said Geely Auto Group president and CEO An Conghui. “It represents Geely’s leap from merely meeting user demands to creating leading trends. Just as the Geely Icon will become a new icon for global SUVs, Geely Auto will also become an icon in terms of automotive technologies and global auto brands.”

So, what do you think? Do you want to see this on Philippine shores?

Let’s wait for a diesel model. Volvo does have diesel option for its rides so it might trickle down to select Geely models.
