another mini EV. roughly s-presso sized, just a bit wider. 5 doors! and isn't a glorified gold kart i.e. motor isn't bolted to the rear axle. it drives the front wheels through CV shafts so the ride quality should be much better than the other minis (changan lumin is FWD as well but is a 3dr)

another interesting thing. the battery isn't a flat thing at the bottom that's just just waiting to be damaged instead is a boxy box where the fuel tank usually is. it's probably a lot safer in there

    P668k less 20k discount

btw JMEV is 50% owned by renault

RWD with the heaviest part of the car -- the batteries -- in the back, just makes a lot of sense to me (like an RR layout in ICE terms). I bet this thing will drive relatively well, even if they put torsion beams in the back.

That will necessitate putting the drive unit (motor) in the rear... where there's hardly any room. Unless you want to move the batteries to the front, but that would mess up the weight distribution again.... or put a propeller shaft for the front drive unit to bring power to the rear tires, and adding a floor hump and splitting the battery in two packs.

Nah, I think the current design is as best as it can be for its size.
