    PLS HELP!

Guys! Ang lakas sa gas nung optra namin, mga 6km/l lang city driving. I've been trying to look for the thread regarding its fuel consumption. Kaso di ko makita. Is it also true na mas matipid sa gas yung new models? 10km/li, is it possible na maging same yung consumption ng car namin sa new models. What adjustment need to be done? Your response is highly appreciated! Thanks!

Just to add, not ALL dealer's/casas offer reprogramming without any conditions or hassles. The only ones that does are CHEVY NORTH EDSA, CHEVY PASIG, CHEVY Q.AVE, at CHEVY SHAW (ATA). The ones in Pampanga and Alabang dont know about it, and the one in Makati requires that your unit has to be tested first before having reprogrammed.

And if you go to the casa for a reprogram, just tell them it's a reprog for the FUEL SYSTEM (with high gas consumption as your primary complaint). They'll be able to do it within an hour. Goodluck and God bless.

Btw, most of the first batch models (2004-2005) are really gas guzzlers compared to the 2006-2007 batch (pre-reprogrammed na bago pa ibenta). Wala lang.

EDIT: Please try to click the POST or CREATE THREAD button just ONCE the next time you would like to start a new thread. Thank you.

the optra's ecu can be flashed so that it will consume less gas. may thread na dito. they brought it to chevy north balintawak to have the ecu reprogrammed. wala pa daw 30 minutes yung process, its free and gumanda pa daw hatak. their consumption improved significantly.

try to contact chevy north balintawak.

This is one of the duplicates. Di pa na-merge ng mga mods. Sorry... I replied to it before I saw your answer to the other one. Erased my reply, but damage was done... na-bump yung thread.

    Greetings.

Nagtanong ako sa Gm shaw about reprogramming the ecu of my Optra 2004. Sabi sa service, they need to replace the spark plug ng pang 1.8 and then reprogram it. Tama po ba yung modification? they're also chraging me 2K for all that.

    Thanks.

Autotechnicka offers ECU reflashing. But it's expensive. About 30k pesos, last I heard. Re-tuning maps costs a lot. The difference with the Chevrolet program is that they have preset maps that they just flash into the car, so it's cheaper.

The advantage of the 30k reflash is that it'll optimize your economy and allow you to make a fair bit more power. The Unichip, which I have, does the same things, but it's a more difficult job, as it has to be wired into your car. Lots of Mazda3s running around on Unichip... makes lots more power, uses less gas. Lovely thing.

batangraon_14 never mentioned spark plugs... try going to North EDSA and getting a counter-quote. They might just be trying to make money off of you.
