Hi! Just want to ask for all the owners of 1.6LS Optra. What oil viscosity are you using? which is more suitable for our car, 10w-30 or 10w-40, and what brand? thanks

weszt,
the SAE (society of automobile engineers) viscosity index is 10W-30 or 10W-40 not 10-40W nor 10-30W. the "W" is for winter grade, you can disregard this if you are in the Peelipins as we do not have winter. what matters is the summer grade of 30 or 40, the higher the number is the thicker the oil but your MPG is a bit lower. the thinner oil on the other hand has better MPG but the engine will be a little bit noisier. use what is recommended by the factory. just make sure the API (american petroleum institute) is SJ or better for newer cars.

Mazda 3 is incredibly tempting, unfortunately the hybrid is not included in the coding exemption...
