If you're after cost-savings that won't work. Install an LPG kit if need be.

May 4th, 2011 04:03 PM #6But seriously... There is still such a thing as Regular Unleaded Gasoline. Petron still markets this and it has a lower octane rating than their Xtra Unleaded Gasoline.
Regular Unleaded Gasoline is designed for low compression engines (typical of pre-1970s vehicles) which have engines with a compression ration of about 8.5 to 1. The Optra 1.6 engine runs a compression ratio of 9.5 to 1 which makes it a high compression engine.
Use at least Xtra Unleaded Gasoline for it or XCS Plus or its equivalent in Shell, Caltex, Total, etc.
