BBC News - GM recalls Chevrolet Cruze over fire risk

"Cars of the same model built at other GM plants are not thought to have the same problem, the spokesman added, although one unit in Holden, Australia, is investigating whether 10,000 cars sold there could be affected."-BBC

Does that mean the plastic engine shield in the Korean assembled Chevy Cruze is different?

The first thing they need to check is if it's a quality control/ assembly issue or if it's a design flaw.

PS: looks like one of the victims...

The local spec Cruze is from GM Korea.

What they need to determine is if it's a quality issue (Ohio plant), if it's a design flaw or if that component is shared with the ones made in other plants.

I don't think the Philippine spec Cruze uses the full insulator. No. 10

I think it use the one pictured below it... the partial cover.

Can any Cruze owner confirm this?
