Chevrolet Trailblazer's production gets underway in Thailand
Words by Jose Carlo Roberto R. Sapera

Just three months after its launch at the 33rd Bangkok International Motor Show, top execs from General Motors, facility employees, key suppliers, and dealers welcomed the all-new Chevrolet Trailblazer as it rolled off GM Thailand's manufacturing facility in Rayong province. A top-of-the-line LTZ variant with a 2.8 liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine was the first in line to come out of the factory.

    nagustuhan ko yun engine nito...

The Duramax engine is made of top grade materials that are geared to promote durability and performance. Its pistons are coated with graphite to reduce friction and power losses.
The Duramax engine has a die-cast aluminum cylinder head for weight reduction resulting in enhanced fuel efficiency and ultimately reducing NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) levels.
The Duramax engine uses the newest Common Rail Direct Injection System (CRDi) that delivers high pressure and precision controlled diesel injection resulting in fuel efficiency, reduced harmful emission and less engine vibration.

This will be one of the few Chevys with the opportunity of having bargain basement prices, since it's made in Thailand. Expect it to be very competitive with the Montero.

Admittedly this has the potential to be Chevy's really big hit. What is there not to like on this vehicle? The price is the final arbiter, though. Hope they do not overprice it. Ford was able to do it with the latest Explorer in terms of pricing.

well they ought to price it lower than the CRDi crossovers. etong back neto is just similar to the Fortuner, mataas na madaling pilayin sa likod pag binangga. kung tuusin it's back can be mistaken for a Fort. so nothing new or exciting or the front eh kaya lahat na ata ng Chevy ngaun ganyan ang front, like the orlando, captiva and their innova counterpart, spin

so this car just screams budget mid SUV. nothing special in exterior

red one looks nicer. but if not for the chevy trademark in front, the body is just an improved Fortuner body.

Exterior-wise, it "bores" some resemblance to the Fortuner.

The inside compartment is another story.
