2 weeks old 2009 Chevy Optra 1.6 LS a/t VGIS
5-6 km/l city driving ang hina pa ng hatak!!!!!!!!!!!!
and this is during the night without too much traffic!!!!
had it checked sa chevy q.ave..
they're recommending reprogramming..
nakakapagsisi, all the while i thought VGIS models don't need this..

for 2009 captiva 2.0 VCDi, i drove it Q.C to subic (NLEX / SCTEX) speed of 110 to 140kph, rpm of 2 to 2.2 . 150kms used 15.2 liters of diesel or almost 10kms / liter. Odometer reading is 5000kms. Tke note ang baba ng RPM (2 to 2.2) with speeds of 110 to 140kph. dahil daw sa torque??? Its fast and runs like a gasoline car (medyo maingay lang)

Hi! I'm new here! Not really a car expert. Anyway, my family has a 2004 Optra 1.6 automatic. I agree that is does run at 6-8 km(pretty safe estimate) per liter. I just want to ask if what happened to me is possible: new change oil, freshly inflated tires, no traffic - night driving, batasan - marcos hiway via commonwealth katipunan, then back (I had my family with me, so medyo mabagal na driving), then EDSA going to fort, then fort going back to batasan via c-5-katipunan-commonwealth (ave speed: 80-90kph): 83km at P300. Is this for real? I gased it up at Shell philcoa when I saw the 1st red light of my gas dial.

Hi guyz, ok ba yung captiva diesel variant sa fuel consumption and performance? Sa after sales? Very common na kasi CRV & $$$RAV4. Test drive one sa Westgate alabang at ok yung ride. Ano opinion or suggestion nyo?

my 2004 Optra 1.6 M/T = 8kms/Liter while my 2009 2.4L Captiva = 5-6kms/Liter both are of city driving.

I was told by a friend working in GM that the engine can be programmed to be fuel efficient or with emphasis on power. By default, they programmed it to be on standard level. We should have our cars checked what program is specified and if can be programmed to be fuel efficient. Just check what would be the consequences on other parameters like power, etc.

kung sa fuel consumption ung Honda Civic..kase average lng ng 2005 chevrolet optra 1.6ls a/t ko is around 5km/l lang..at mas mura maintenance ng honda kaysa sa chevrolet

Mine is Optra 2007..

City: 8-10 km/liter
Highway: 12-13 km/liter

Notice na onte lang ang difference, because of stretches along the way pag provincial road. Syempre, pag nakakita ka ng makinis na daan, mahirap pigilin ang paa ng umapak sa gas.

You just need to be a bit concious, para makatipid ka sa gas.
