    a little off topic:

how come this Captiva cannot be seen on chevrolet PH website yet being sold by dealers? And does it come with the 2.2L or the 2.0L VCDi because different ads selling the 2012 Captiva have either the 2.2 or the 2.0 displacement?

As of July 11, 2012, the status for the facelifted Captiva is "coming soon"

This is the image Chevrolet Philippines posted on their FB page with this caption "It's coming soon... are you guys excited?"

Not sure about the diesel engine, but I saw the engine specs of the petrol version in Chevrolet Thailand's website.
It uses the newer 168hp 2.4 liter engine with Double CVC (Double Continuously Variable Cam-Phasing), the old 2.4 liter engine only made 142hp.

Likely better to wait for the Trailblazer. The Captiva is no longer class-competitive with the other Korean crossovers, too cramped, too old.

I actually like the front of the facelifted model, looks really menacing. Rear looks as uninspired as ever though. Interior's pretty okay.

Its features are about on par with a Sorento EX that's more expensive. I haven't driven or ridden in one though, but from pics alone, it looks like it's at a space disadvantage compared to the Sorento/Santa Fe. No idea about performance or handling either, not much feedback about the previous model.

This is one car that's in serious need of hype. In a time where SUVs are all the rage, this one seems to be left in the cornering gathering dust despite offering a pretty decent package.

I'd also wait for the Trailblazer, due to its enhanced off-road ability.
