2009 Chevrolet Traverse CUV
The Traverse is built on GM's large/full-size Crossover SUV "GM Lambda platform".
Its available with a 281hp(single exhaust) and 286hp(dual exhaust) Direct Injection 3.6 liter V6 with a choice of FWD or AWD.
The Traverse fills the gap in Chevy's family-vehicle portfolio left by the demise of the poor-selling Venture minivan. GM now is effectively out of the minivan business, while Chevy continues to expand its range of family-oriented crossovers.
The Traverse shares many of the features of its siblings, including three rows of seats with accommodations for eight, four-wheel independent suspension, electronic stability control, six airbags and a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. It will come in three trim levels: LS, LT and LTZ.
The Traverse is fitted with a 3.6-liter V6 that makes 281 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque with single exhaust, 286 hp and 255 lb-ft with dual exhaust. The transmission is a six-speed automatic.
Chevy is offering a choice of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels. Among the options are ultrasonic rear parking assist, a rearview camera, rear-seat entertainment system, power liftgate, heated windshield fluid, DVD navigation with XM Satellite Radio and traffic routing, and a panoramic power sunroof.

Hello? It looks like a Mazda CX-9 and a big Hyundai Santa Fe! Hahaha! But its class resembles a Veracruz. How much does this cost? Will it be available here in the Philippines??? I like this CUV. ^_^

A sure winner if it hits our shores!
The 20" wheel option will be devoured by the majority especially that the design ain't too shabby for an American crossover vehicle. This is certainly a big leap from the Venture.
Very intriguing rear center console controls too!

The official price hasn't been released yet by GM, but its estimated starting price of $28K for the 2WD model is similar to that of the discontinued LWB Trailblazer EXT. If the Traverse makes it to the RP, expect pricing to be similar or just slightly higher than the equivalent Trailblazer EXT.
The Traverse crossover would be a perfect vehicle to fill the gap between the Captiva and Tahoe in the local GM SUV lineup, now that the Trailblazer EXT is no longer in production.

If it's on sale in the U.S., is there a chance of having the Traverse in the Philippines? Do you think it will replace the TrailBlazer we had in the RP?

October 21st, 2008 05:52 PM #9Why does Chevy keep changing the name of their cars? Why not just call this the new Trailblazer? That's one of the best SUV names around.

If I'm not wrong for price computation. If the Chevrolet Traverse will hit Philippines, the price will be more or less Php 2,600,000. Thanks to the Philippine International Automotive Tax and Regulation for brand new vehicle ordering.
Why is like that ?
Because this car is not produce nor assemble in here... the unit come directly from US. If we have any Chevrolet producer or assembler here in the Philippines like Thailand or Korea, the price wont be like that....
3M pa rin for me. I will only look at other brands if the quotation from the official distributor...
What's the best car tint brand and color?
