hindi ko na pinalitan. pina-remedyo ko na lang. hindi ko nga alam kung baket nasira yun rad. sabi ng mekaniko makalawang daw. natamaan pa cylinder head gasket so pati yun pinalitan. anyway, binenta ko na yun optra ko. ang dami kaseng sakit sa ulo na binigay. dami na gastos. if i were you, i'll sell na din. habang maayos pa cars niyo.

2004 Optra, that would be a 7-year old car by now. That would also be 4-years past the warranty and if it was maintained at the casa under the previous Chevy management, chances are they didn't warn you of things which will wear out in time.

For Optra owners, it's a good idea to be part of daewoo-chevrolet sites or forums to have a better insight about their cars. The things you should know about which are not in the manual nor divulged to you by chevrolet's service advisers can be found there. Sites such as this help as well.

Most cars if not all, have a certain lifespan and at a certain point, things start to break down. Some cars have parts that break down at different times, while some cars suddenly show numerous defects all within a year (lat's say... for example, its 7th year or so.)

A well maintained car, even a 2004 Optra should not be a problem if you know what's coming up next.

Overheating obviously can cause a lot of damage. That's why all cars come with a temp gauge, and for the newer sub-compacts, a warning light. If your car's temp goes above the normal temp. You should stop the car ASAP and let it cool down, inspect for leaks, if it loses coolant rapidly have it towed for servicing. Driving it to the casa is your choice and drivability depends on the extent of the fault.

Also, the manual says, just like all car manuals state (for dacades and decades now), before using your car, you should check your fluids daily. How many actually do this?

For the Optra, there are some things to watch out for... The thermostat housing which is made of some plastic has to be replaced every two years or so. That is why some 3rd party manufacturers offer an alternative made of aluminum.

The Optra probably may require more attention as compared to other cars of its age, but it doesn't mean the other cars won't give you headaches as well.
