warning on BDO ATM debit card users

share ko lang experience ko with this ATM debit card from BDO

newly opened tong account na to para sa business ko on airsoft, car stuff, etc...maliit na business lang naman para sa mga customers ko sa provinces
dikopa nagagamit tong atm card na to

then all of a sudden nawalan ako ng 3.5k pag check ko, nag check ako kc may customer na nagdeposit, pumasok naman payment nya, kaso nawalan ako ng 3.5k, punta agad ako sa sta.lucia grandmall branch

sabi may online transaction daw ako na ginawa at from russia yung store mp3 daw 4x daw ako bumili at P830 each, sabi ko wlako marember... bdo branch manager asked me if naiwan ko somewhere yung card, baka daw kasi may ibang gumamit, sabi ko eh may pin code yun ah...wla daw pincode sa ATM debit card nila...sabi ko ha? eh panu protection ng customers nyo? eh wala daw eh...so ganun nalang yun dko na mkukuha yung nawalang 3.5k? tumawag daw ako sa 631-8000 at mag file ng case

then pag uwi ko naremember ko na nag try ako mag purchase ng mp3 pro using different card and this time credit card from hsbc and di nag proceed sabi invalid card number pro wlang nabawas sa credit card, and at this point na remember ko na nag try din ako d2 sa mastercard bdo ATM debit card, dun sa bdo ATM debit card nabawasan kahit sinabing invalid card #

so ang tanung why ganun? nababawasan kahit wla naman ako nakuha or kahit utot wla? sayang ang 3.5k gtx front

Sa internet po ba kayo nag-attempt na mag-transaction? Legitimate po ba yung sinubukan ninyong bilihan?

AFAIK, kung credit-card type transaction via online purchase, wala po yata talagang PIN iyan. That's why it's important to buy only from legitimate/reputable sources and to make sure your computer is secure (walang viruses, spyware, etc.), their computer is secure (may padlock lumalabas sa lower right ng browser), and that the connection is secure.

If there is some mistake, I suggest you contact BOTH the one you attempted to buy from AND the BDO customer service. They'll probably ask you to write a request for a reversal of charges as you explain what happened and verify that the source did NOT push through with the transaction (hence, try to contact them also).

Pero kung talagang pirata o manloloko yung site na binilhan mo at sinabing pinadala nila ang item(s) kahit wala naman, palagay ko di na sulit maghabol -- charge to experience na lang.In fact, kung bad talaga sila, you might want to cancel those cards since your numbers may have been intercepted by criminal elements.

Medyo shady ang iyong na attempt na bilhan bro...... An establishment from Russia ba kamo?.... Anyway, there is no harm is requesting for a reversal. If not possible, then charge it to experience.... Not good.....

Which is why I never try to purchase anything online. Kahit may Verisign pa yan or yung lock icon sa page. You never know with the kind of sophistication hackers have nowadays.

I just remembered yung Dateline report on identity theft a few weeks ago. Hindi kaya na-hack yung CC nos. nung TS?

My sister also had same issue. nagwithdraw kame sa ATM sa greenhills last Christmas, tapos lumabas naman parang offline yata yung machine. she was going to withdraw sana 10 for christmas shopping. so akala namin walang nabawas. to her surprise naman, when she go to other BDO booth, may nabawas na 10. she filed a complain pero nothing happened.

bakit kaya ang atm na nila bakit ang dami nilang type of atm. pag offline yung system ng atm mo, regardless naka online naman yung booth di ka makakapag withdraw kasi yung system for the type of atm you have is offline. di ba sobrang hassle nun.

based naman sa experience ko.. eh ok naman ang BDO.. we're using BDO CashCard as payroll dito sa opis.. wala namang hassle.. mababa pa inter network fees.. 7.00 lang yata compared to 10.00 pag regular ATM gamit mo.. tapos pag nag offline while withdrawing or walang dispense.. eh after a few seconds.. pag balance inquiry mo ulit eh binabalik naman nya yung hindi na withdraw.. so far we're happy with BDO.. daming ATMs..

tapos ok din ang internet / telephone banking.. may savings / current account din ako tapos naka hook up din yung cashcard.. so via telephone i can transfer funds between the 3 accounts.. so far more than 4 years na.. wala pa ako nagiging major problem.

nowadays kasi you have to be careful transacting with internet sites,, marami fake site sa net just to get your card no.

you know hackers can do anything they want so just be careful its not safe in the virtual world

if you want to transact online.. get another credit card with a low credit line.. para kung ma hack.. mababa lang mawawala..

phishing site malamang ang kinuhaan mo ng MP3 using the BDO card. At sinabi lang na invalid ang card number....I think it is not necessarily the BDO card.

Di ko lang ma gets is bakit may deduction eh BDO ATM naman gamit ko sa BDO ATM machine.

is there a possibility na ma hack ung credit card ko kung binigay ng misis ko sa akin ung credit card # ko saka expiration date ng card thru YM, tapos ako naka meebo sa ofc? Magagamit kaya nila ung info? or kelangan din nila makuha ung ibang info about the card? like owners name, billing add, etc.

i worked at a us bank processing internet fraud claims. unfortunately here in the philippines we dont have laws that protect consumers from online fraud not like in the us where if the claim is legit, the bank reverses the charges for the account holder and its the bank who goes after the merchant. in your case, the branch manager is right in saying that online purchases have no pin especially debit cards. pin is used only for cash withdrawals. using your debit or credit card for online purchases carries its risks specially if the site stores account information. that is why you have to protect yourself at all times when making those types of purchases.let this be a lesson to you.

Nangyari sa akin once yan. I tried to withdraw money from a BPI ATM machine using my Landbank ATM card. I needed to do 2 transactions/withdrawals because of the withdrawal limit. On the second transaction, walang lumabas na cash, although naging successful naman yung transaction. When I checked the balance, nawala nga yung supposedly nai-withdraw ko.

I filed a claim sa bank, and after a week, binalik naman sa account ko yung nawalang pera.

muntik na ako mawalang ng 300 pesos dahil dun.. sa southstar drug pa ha--invalid da, pagbalance check ko bumawas! kinuha ko SO from my branch then pinakita ko sa southstrar na binilhan ko... awa ng dyos after 1/2 a year...bumalik din 300 ko..busit!

maki relate na din ako tungkol sa BDO, 3 days ago, nag pa open ako ng usd kabayan account sa bangko na ito, dahil ofw ay pinayagan nila, at dahil ang charges daw ay 5 usd kada transaction at kahit magkano ang ipadala at wala ng ibang babayaran pa, according ito sa wife ko at ito ang sinabi sa kanya ng officer ng bank, kaya ito ang pinili ko kesa sa ibang bank na ang charges ay 8 usd to 16 usd per transaction, ang nangyari ng ipadala ko na ang telegtaphic transfer ng pera, nag init ang ulo ko dahil ang charges ay 30 usd, tanong ni wife sa bank kung bakit nag ka ganun, ang nangyari ay pinag pasa pasahan na siya, pinatawagan pa sa kanya yung ibang branch,yung sa may ortigas pa daw, sa end wala ding nangyari dahil may mga international ek ek charges daw yun, sabi ko na lang dahil na hihigh blood na din ako sa mga kasinungalingan nila at dumagdag pa sila sa mga bampira na sumisipsip ng mga dugong pinuhunan namin sa ibang bansa, i-withdraw at i-close ang account, kaya maging warning na din ito sa mga ofw na makakabasa ng experience namin, sa mga magtatanong kung magkano ang ipinadala ko at baka may alam sa mga international bank transaction, 3600 usd lang po, salamat po..
