    Matthew 22:21

    "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

    ===

    I just don't think about it that much. At least I can sleep with a good conscience that I have done my small part for our country.

    Regardless how that tax is spent by the modern day Caesar... that is not the real point. The point is are you paying the correct taxes based on your income. The BIR even said that if only professionals would remit the proper tax, we wouldn't have a need for the E-VAT.

    the government's counter to their inefficiency to collect proper taxes is to impose E-VAT.

    well... the BIR is already on a suing spree... hasn't tax evasion charges been filed already against prominent personalities (such as regine velasquez), etc. for not declaring some of their income.

    Meron na bang i-denemanda ang BIR na big corporation? (yung with media coverage ha)

    Parang wala di ba?

    Dun nga sa kaso nila with Judy Ann eh malamang talo sila, at malamang bayad pa sila ng malaki kay Juday ng damages..hehehe...

    plus, mawala lang corruption sa gobyerno, kung di man totally mawala...mabawasan man lang di na rin kailangan ng E-VAT.

    25%!?!#%^%^*&

    don't mind paying it IF it's being used properly AND if everyone, especially the BIG corporations, pay theirs properly

    but even if they don't, we still pay ours and just rant & gripe on forums like this

    same here! bawas na salary ko before pa dumating sweldo. IMO our taxation needs to be overhauled. kawawa naman mga minimum wage workers saka yun mga income eh below 20 k monthly. Yun taxable income eh dapat itaas nila since ilang beses na nga nagtataasan lahat ng bilihin pero ang sweldo hindi naman tumataas.

    bakit ang mga pobreng empleyado.. di pa lumalapat ang sweldo.. kaltas na agad nang 25 to 30%...

    bakit ang mga professional?? doctor, dentista, PBA players, etc.. bakit 10% lang ang kaltas?? kung sino pa mas malaki ang kinikita.. sila pang mas maliit ang pursyento nang tax!!!

    ako, taon taon.. halos nagbibigay nang isang 2nd hand na sasakyan sa gobyerno! tapos binubulsa lang naman.. ni isang kahang yosi wala ka man lang makuha dyan sa gobyerno..

    the 10% (and will automatically changed to 15% when your gross income reached 750K) tax deducted from professionals, such as doctors/lawyers/accountants/consultant, is just a witholding tax. At the end of year we still have to pay as high as 32% depending on the net income. From the 32% (to the total net income) eh saka ibabawas yung lahat na na-withold na 10% (or 15%).

    The trick is, if u r a registered-professional sa BIR, u can deduct work-related expenses from your income (such as GASOLINE, food, depreciation ng kotse, parking, cellphone expense, travel expense - as in "pamasahe sa jeep/taxi/etc", and other depreciation ng declared assets mo, plus the standard deductions of an ordinary worker such as SSS, dependents, etc)...which are normally your daily expenses...if you are just a an ordinary worker...wala kang pwedeng i-deduct sa income mo maliban sa standard deductions (SSS/dependent/etc). Yan ang pagkakaiba kaya maliit ang tax ng mga professionals/corporate at hindi yan sasabihin ng BIR sa iyo.
