yup, can someone dig up how many dollars per minute we are paying for the bataan plant that was never used. i know it is some outrageous figure that for some reason the Philippines does not have the international political ability to have the loan written off.

mas okey na'to kaysa time deposit ang Marcos wealth sa bangko for interest.

Dudes, while there is life there is hope.

Parents, raise your children to be upright and to be involved with what is happening in their community. Show them how to be industrious and to never give up. And above all else, pray as a family. Our children will follow our lead and, when we are old and grey, continue to develop the Philippines if we show them the right examples while they are young.

    1. Eradicate corrupt officals: Government officials, Army officers, Police, etc.— which means killing them in public with a single bullet. Hand the used bullet to their families and charge them for it.

    2. All men not earning more than 10K a month must be castrated immediately. That way, the ratio of poor to rich will be less. If they refuse to be castrated, a mandatory shot in the head is given. Men will be "forced" and find ways to earn more than the required limit. (So I'll see less "tambays with tattoos" standing all day smoking cigs and drunk doing nothing.)

    3. The poor can't marry. Much more produce kids. In case they decide to marry, a mandatory declaration of minimum asset of 200K must be submitted before their given a license to marry. It doesn't stop there. They have to maintain a 200K reserves while raising a family or they too will be eradicated.

    4. Philandering wives and husband will be shot to death. No remorse. Kill as one.

    5. Thefts, snatchers, kidnappers will be spared. But both hands must be chopped off. It's a gruesome reminder to public not to follow them. Murderers on the other hand will be burned to death in public national TV.

    6. People who staged rallies will be gassed immediately.

    7. If you have a career in showbiz before, you're banned running for public position forever.

    8. People who complain and do nothing will be killed as well. Think radio commentators.

    9. People who have IQ lowr than 90 will be killed. Those who can't distinguish cubism from abstract will be killed too. Raise your kids intelligently and with taste in arts. Not FHM and noontime shows.

    10. There's only one religion. Anyone who mounts their own following will be killed as well.

66bunny : Amen to that! With all the killing going on, you apparently also solved our runaway population problem.

On a more realistic insight :

Our country is rich in natural resources, our people have talent, . . . but we just can't seem to get our act together (it's called crab mentality).

Most of our BOP deficit is caused by importation of oil. Oil to produce electricity, fuel vehicles, etc. If we cut our oil imports, then we can have a sigh of relief.

We have 4.5 trillion cubic feet of LNG in 1,600 meters of water in Malampaya-let this fuel our powerplants. We have enough LNG reserves for electricity production for thousands of years and can even export LNG to ASEAN. Unfortunately, all our baseload powerplants are diesel-fired. Why don't we slowly convert them to LNG. Conversion is expensive but we got to start somewhere. But once on-line, electicity will be cheap since cost of raw material (i.e. LNG) is zero, we only pay for conversion cost.

Rsnald has a good insight at BIODISEL RULEZ thread. We can start expanding our coconut and sugar plantations - coconut to produce coconut oil and sugar to produce methanol - the two key ingredients for coco-based biodiesel (just mix them together). This fuel source is renewable (we can just keep planting) whereas fossil fuel is not.

By doing the above, we also cut pollution caused by traditional diesel fuel.

We just have to start somewhere.

bakit naman kill, how about the invention teleportation gun. it's a weapon

wherein you shoot people in squatters & slum areas then automatic

relocated buong community sa province in less than 5 mins. hehehe.

therefore, ma-eradicate na illegal tapping ng electricity.

or shoot a*hole buses & jeepneys then balik terminal sila kasama pasahero

    then bigla luwag kalsada.

or a mini-EMP gun. pag nag-rally with mic. shoot the sound system

with EMP ala War of the Worlds hehehe

think buying "proudly made in the philippines" products instead of imported ones. unless of course quality is a real issue. if you can be satisfied with the quality of made in RP why not di ba?

like laptops, acer and toshiba ba ang made in PI? with intel processors instead of amd.

    bench, instead of imported jeans.

buy locally manufactured tyres. ano brands nga ba?

don't buy fortuner! it's made in thailand!
