September 17th, 2006 02:59 PM #22Guys,
We operated a small taxi service din before and when we recovered the investment and made a little money, we decided to stop.
Here are the critical items to consider as operator, other than the driver and maintenance issues, choice of vehicles already discussed above:
1 Taxi franchise - be sure you can get one for the number of units you want to run.
2 LTFRB - dealing with them takes a lot time and the new penatlties are very high compared to the past.
3 DOCS - manage required docs properly and respond on time, as late penalties can easily wipe out your earnings.
4 LTO - find it always a pain to deal with them and leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you have to resort to payoffs just to get things done.
5 LAW ENFORCEMENT - including getting reported for refusing to convey passengers, since you can not control all drivers, and the operators have to appear before arbitration to face angry passengers.
6 TAXES - filing your annual income tax and financial reports - be sure to keep records of maintenance and down time, actual income, etc. of course a lot of other operators simply fabricate these just to comply.
My 2 cents....hope these helps.....

share ko lang experience ko sa inyo we've been operating taxi since i was a kid. sa mga gustong mag operate ng taxi isa lang ang masasabi ko mahirap mag handle ng taxi business. dapat nakakaintindi ka sa mga sira ng kotse dahil kung aasa mo lang sa mechanic mo baka lokohin ka lang. dami din problems like accident, drivers, traffic enforcer. meron din mga driver na nagagastos yun boundary tapos iwan na lang sa kalsada yun unit mo tapos nanakawin pa din yun mga parts ng unit. until now were operating taxi ok naman sanay na po kami.

ah prehas tayo pre. my dad's been in the business since 70's pa.
hmm:
personally, i dont intend to stay long sa taxi business. enough na lang na makaipon ako for my retirement tapos down to 10units na lang para d sakit sa ulo. pero may style pa talaga sa taxi na dapat kong matutunan e. like for some big companies, meron silang over 1k units. andame! how?! sa pagmemaintain ko ng 52units with some helper mechanics with my dad along with an expert electrician e, i barely get to see my family nor have the time for personal stuff.
kaya sa nagbabalak mag taxi e, think long and hard...

Since I'm planning to venture in this biz...Magkano na ba ang boundary sa ngayon? eg.. Sentra or Vios ang unit mo.
And those who venture in this biz, please give us feedback.
Thanks po ng marami.

Hi,
Interesado ko mag karoon ng taxi business sa pilipinas pero this is my first time. May idea ka ba kung ano ano ang kailangan to make it a taxi. Kailangan ba ng plate for business.
