Parang good marketing strategy ng VinFast.
Yung owner is also one of the owners ng VinFast.
If this taxi fleet can prove the reliability of these VinFast units, that might entice more buyers.

I bet, these vehicles will quickly turn to rolling junk like most passenger utility vehicles in service sa Pinas. Wala pa akong nakikitang taxi na walang bangga...

    for me... double edged sword.

    Pros.
sales is sales (kahit commercial vehicle pa yan)
    Vinfast can prove its reliability

    Cons.
Car maybe labeled as a "Taxi Car" - remember the Corolla E100 (Big Body) or the Gemini
If parts are not readily available, mabilis kakalat ang word of mouth (Daewoo Racer)
If the car is not reliable, ma-amplify yung issues nya sa taxi kasi its running a lot of kms in a day (remember the Kia Pride/CD-5, Sentra B13)
Any small defect of the vehicle, kakalat agad (mahina A/C), mabilis ma-low batt. etc

If maka-tyempo ka ng old taxi driver ngayon, they will tell you na lahat ng kilala nila na nagdrive ng LPG na Taxi had TB. I think its just a bad conversion done by local shops. Kasi internationally naman, madaming public transport running on CNG.

But LPG and CNG are not the same, right?

^ so roughly almost php 1.6 ++ m din Pala. Is that price par for the course for EVs sold here?

As far as I remember when vinfast 1st got into the american market, their reviews were so slaughteringly bad. I wonder if they now improved a year or two down the road (pun intended).

Pero Ang maganda sa green gsm, their drivers are no longer plying their trade under the boundary system. Sabi Ng drivers in an interview regular employees na Sila. So theoretically, they won't be racing against time and against their competition.

Afford ng owner since sila rin nman may ari ng car manufacturer.

Also, since drivers are regular employees that are paid monthly salary, baka hindi mag-uunahan to sa daan.
Especially that may App support rin sila to allow users to book their taxis online.
With the current system ng taxi natin, laging nag aagawan ng pasahero.
Dito, kahit maunahan ng ibang taxi, OK lang since may fixed monthly salary naman na matatanggap.

So most likely, less frequent banggaan dito if behaved lang yung drivers nila.

so it is now being shown, that PU electric vehicles, are feasible...
    i wonder,
when will all these spill over to the rest of the taxi industry, and to the PUJs?
and to the manufacturing industry? i believe we can locally manufacture these, at cheaper cost. they may not be sleek and luxurious, but i do believe they're perfectly functional and reasonably comfortable.

hard to beat the Vios at 738K (MT) and 780K (CVT)
    VF5 is around 1M

PUJ? when was the last time you saw a new Jeep? on an operators standpoint... why change something that's already earning? a new and an old jeep will earn the same.

This is why I am in favor of phasing out old Jeeps and requiring operators to upgrade their vehicles. Public deserves better.
