hi french! yes i looked into all of those before starting. the way im doing it now, im well under the limit. also, i own the car in the process meaning i pay the registration, taxes, and other fees. this is also my way of trying different cars. though it is more of a hobby now, i already started a few steps getting a license. and i already see the biggest hurdle which is finding a site that will be approved, local to me, and that i can manage with my current family (with a new baby ) and work schedule.

mine is 2+ months since i dont rush and advertise the car (purely online only). realistically i can get it ready within a week or two if there are no major repair or body work and if i advertise more aggressively. look for my other rides scion and yaris under "me and my tsikot" for more info on my time frame.

before i forget, when selling, i fully disclose everything in the car esp the repairs, detailing, paperwork, and that i own it as a project or hobby car. i even start with the "bad" and show all the repaired areas to the rest of the car. almost all of the potential buyers i met appreciated the upfront approach.

Probably because you're one of only a few people to do that when they sell cars. In terms of used car sales you might even call it a fresh approach to selling. If I ever get back in that part of the world I may get in touch with you to find out if your dealership has started, maybe even buy a car from you. **Hint SRT-8 Magnum or SRT-8 Grand Cherokee. LOL

i figured that approach by just thinking of all the bs i experienced before buying previous cars from dealers and private parties. anywhere from "come on" ads, excellent condition claim but crappy car, and "car sold on your way here, but here's another..," and worse hidden major work (i do have to inform one dealer that what they are selling had major body repair). i have to startup a business now that i have a confirmed customer . if i do however, ill stick with economy cars under 10k. with the current economy, i assume people have less cash at hand.

my current project yaris is now on the market but have low expectation due to a lot of competition. might take longer to sell, but im researching already the next one.

here's a small update. almost sold last time again but didnt work out. fewer calls maybe due to the toyota recall. and dealing with people bargaining over the phone. also had a few asking for "blue book" though you cant find one at that price. i just went ahead and encourage them to "go get one at that price" which is usually high mileage or worst, salvaged . im meeting one buyer later and trying not to expect anything.

i guess i was wrong on my previous post - just sold the car now

last few days it went from none to multiple inquiries and first person who saw it, bought it the next day. very unpredictable. good thing the car and paperwork are ready since the last near sale.
