My wife and her brother started a small BBQ stand in Marikina in front of Marist, they chose the place coz my BIL used to study there and they got a space in front of a store/eatery who's charging them P100/day of operations (so kung sarado, no rent).

It's really a basic BBQ cart like those sa "branded" fishball cart setup. No signage since ang dating ng cart is part of the carinderia...

How can they attract buyers since it's not really a big-bang business and the product offered is pretty "normal".

As a BBQ addict, their BBQ is good, they're like P10 a piece as well.

Any tips and experiences will be appreciated.

(Kung napadaan kayo try nyo din hehe)

free taste...pag daan namin ng ortigas. :D

dapat medyo masa tingnan, the price is ok for P10. siguro wag lang pork bbq, they could also add up diff kinds of bbq. (isaw, etc.)

Bai: May isaw din sila (galing UP yung sikat hehe)...

Ang issue ko dun sa pwesto nila kasi is that their main customers kasi are students (highschool), so budget is really limited.

It's their 3rd day palang, first and third day sobrang low volume, pero yung 2nd day ubos benta nila...

    Veed,

Well, nung malakas benta the other day, madaming taga village bumili, mga nagsusundo, mga driver, etc... Iilan lang students... kaya they were quite optimistic about it...

I told them nga din to give out flyers, baka pwede din sila mag deliver sa Rancho subdivisions sa gabi...

for a BBQ biz... try to make more of the smoke go around. Its like free advertising. If people smells the BBQ smoke, they will come to find you. Just make sure you are visible.

Told them to be patient wag madiscourage agad, hehe... hirap din kasi low-price retailing parang ang liit ng kinikita until maka serious volume ka na...

GH: Pinagiisipan nga din nila how to get electricity sa stall coz wala sa usapan yung kuryente sa rent nila hehe.

Well, if you need a fan and have a car battery around (or even two 12volt 6Ah SLA batteries) you can power a 12volt car fan. A simple job to screw it to a piece of plywood as a base. That should help get some BBQ smoke flowing around.

BTW, the price of P10/stick is really low. It might be possible to have a bigger size at a slightly higher price.

I also suggest that you can accept bulk orders for parties, etc.

well .. you can price it (if possible) at 9.50 or 9.75 .. may psychological factor din yung hindi double digits yung pricing eh ...

handa lang kayo ng madaming barya .. hehe ..

another thing is magpa-softdrinks kayo .. para may added value kayo ..

yun ang issue pare, di pwede yung drinks kasi yung pinepwestohan they sell those na...

actually i told them nga that use this space as a trial muna as to how the biz can be ran, kasi nga low overhead and wala din naman masyado losses kung di nagclick kasi transferable yung cart and wala naman commitment sa rent...

But hanggat pwede, sana kumita sila dun...

Pero pwede nga nila pagisipan yung 9.75 thing for students... thanks.

Solution was to put a fan that drove the smoke away from the customers.

AFAICR, yung Marist medyo tago yata? Di ko na nga maalala how to go there...

Aba isaw... baka makadala you sa EB sir theveed...
