Ang tanong, ito lang ba or do you have other non-liquid assets?
I'm asking because of the old saying, don't put all your eggs in one basket...
So after some piece of real estate, maybe a house or just a lot, the next would be some form of protection, like insurance, then regular savings, something that won't erode because of bad choices, but won't become useless due to inflation. And then there's investment.
The ratio of each will depend on your age. < 30 you should have more on investment, and more on the high-risk/high-return sort. > 30, < 40 a bit in the middle. > 40 you should go for safer investments as you have a shorter period until retirement.
As far as investment goes, if you are the type who wants to run a business, that might be for you, otherwise you can invest in somebody else's business (via the stockmarket or friends, which is a higher risk.)
And then there is also the question of where you plan to invest it and where you plan to retire.
go to vegas and bet on morales! i will double my money in just merely an hour. j/k
i call my financial adviser and tell him 'here's the money, make it grow!'..hehe
i like M54's suggestion.
Just wanted to share this:
I read in yesterday's Inquirer Magazine about the booming Jollijeep business in Makati. These are the food stalls on the street parking which was previously a Jeepney converted into a food stall but now it looks more decent because it is now a real stall. These are the alternative eating place where you can eat your lunch or snacks or just order take out.
I did not realize but based on the article, these stall net P7,000 a day if the business is good or as low as P5,000 a day if bad. Not bad. If we multiply P5K x 22 days a month, they can net P110K a month.
Not Bad.. what do you think?
I now have new found respect for this business.
rolex watch for each of us (my wife and 3 kids). it doesn't depreciate. white dialled explorer for me, yung ginamit sa mt. everest. ayos!![]()
$10K invest in fund... like Banco de Oros Smart Money Gold Fund. Check on it every quarter for the interest.
$10K put in time deposit for a year.
$5K savings... for emergencies.
Simple lang diba? No hassle.
$10K - Time deposit 1yr
$5K - Dollar fund
$10K - try ko invest sa dealership of Smart and Globe electronic load.
$10K in TD would only earn you $250 bucks. Going rate right now is around 2.5% lang.
same age kayo ng friend ko... same problem... hehehehe... dati i always ask myself that question... tapos ive realized, gagawin kong business kung ano yun mahal kong gawin...
advise ko lang, dapat yun business mo, yun gusto mo at mahal mong ginagawa... tipong gagawin mo kahit lugi... there would be lot of tough times, in fact more tough times rather than good times... pero andun yun excitement... dun mo makikita yun passion and love mo for the work... yun pera susunod na lang yun...
Received a text from my wife that someone offered her some investment in Euro bond with the rate of 3%. Is this also good investing? Iniisp ko parang loss ka agad dito since you need to convert your dollar sa euro to invest.
3% is low for a bond. at that rate it had darn well better be risk-free (i.e. issued by a Central Bank). if you want more returns and want to stay in the Euro market, maybe you could look into bonds issued by the European blue chip companies, or stocks that issue dividends.
Thanks M54 Powered. Originally Posted by M54 Powered
BTW, you're right. It's risk-free nga sabi ni misis.

peeps, I have known just now na marami rin palang indonesian ang nag invest sa autosurf scheme mentioned by Meinldrummer. And seems they are all satisfied.
I will invest it in a unit of condo.. tapos pauupahan ko.. monthly rental income will be going to the amortization. after that sa yo na ang condo pwede mo na ibenta...tubo na ang US$25k mo..
