Parang sa akin lang last year ang pinagawa lang nila sa akin ay basahin mga data and kelangan sign ko for final approval pero merong 2 people before me na ang nagbasa and nagbigay na ng approval kaya bale useless na din ginagawa ko dahil pirma nalang ginagawa ko.

Everyday wala akong ginagawa waiting na may gawin. Hindi nga kami nag uusap nang boss ko e. Kung kailan ko lang sya gusto kausapin saka kami mag uusap.

One thing na alam ko sa trabaho ko, pag may ginawa ako ibig sabihin hindi ako effective.

Sooner or later, the redundancy will be noticed, if not already. If the company is not willing to offer severance pay, they might just be waiting on you to make the first move (resign). If you still like to work for the company, prove to them you are the right guy. Look for process improvement, work load balancing and elimination of non-value adding tasks. If you think that it is not worth the effort, then actively pursue looking for opportunities outside. Surfing job ops and writing application letters would somehow keep you busy. Try linked in.

Naalala ko, dun sa 3rd company na pinasukan ko. First 2 months ko, sinabihan ako wag daw muna ko pumasok, basta mag-email lang ako everyday ng time in time out ko. Aba e tuwing dadating ang sweldo e pumapasok naman sa account ko. hehehehe. Tapos nung pinapasok na ko finally, wala din namang project pa pala. petiks pa rin langya. In the end, lipat!

i read something similar to this: there was this boss who said he'll charge people for doing overtime, because doing overtime means you couldn't do your job efficiently ^_^

If you are an employee and is always not busy, your neck will be on the chopping block when there is reduction in force or restructuring, there is no job security.

Getting a promotion is good because at least when you move to another company, even a lateral transfer will still put you in a better place than you were last year.

What's the expectation from your current role? If what you are currently doing (doing nothing) is the expectation, then probably your current role is not really appropriate for you. In line management roles, do not expect the kind of Nitty gritty tasks that you once did when you were in the rank and file level. If you are managing people, that is where you need to focus your efforts. Have regular one on ones with your staff. Try to probe more on what your staff is doing/supporting. Try to make it sound that you are really interested with their task. From the one on ones you'll find issues or opportunities where you can focus on and try to resolve or improve. You said it yourself, your company is horrible. I'm sure you'll find issues or inefficiencies. Believe me, these will keep you busy throughout the year. 😁

Mga officemate ko nag sideline habang wala ginagawa. Buy n sell ng kung ano ano at stocks. Tingin ko nasa satin na un initiative pano gamitin ng tama ang oras naten, nde un magaantay pa tayo ng trabaho. Isa pa, imposible na perpekto operations nyo sa ngayon. Meron at meron ka magagawa para maimprove pa yan. Metrics or look at reports.

I am also in IT. Quit one of those large companies where work doesn't seem to run out. Opted to find a smaller company with much more flexibility with my time. This new company doesn't push me as much but id I get complacent, I will be left out.

I work from IT, Davao ako, so hinde gano kadami malipatan for the Skill that I have. I am working mostly on Linux Servers. But there was a time na I am thinking of shifting, parang ayaw ko na nang IT, but you know, sometimes we need to reflect, maybe dahil sa outage dito, outage dyan, kahit anong oras, tatawagan, so pressured masyado but still able to handle though. So, what I did, I try to find some diversion. Hehe, pinasok ko short course na automotive... hehe, kasama ko mga mechanic sa 6 months na every saturday. at dun ko na realized, swerte pa rin naman trabaho ko. So ito, enjoy na lang what I have now, and maybe, will grow old with the company i am connected currently, yeah, there are a lot to learn everyday on the skills that I have, but I cant learn that all because we have to balance our time, we need to have time to family and dont use that time to extend work tasks when you are on off work. Just learn to teach your subordinate on basics para pwede mo maiwan trabaho mo.

Hehe, tama na din pag may extra time ka talaga, stock market will make you busy.
