for 300K max... ill buy and sell cars starting at the 150-200k capital and the rest... a small grocery.
btw, OT: how do you start a business? sorry medyo wala po ako idea... hindi namen alam kung paano magsisimula, someone's offering us a deal we own very favorable sa amen... but we are not familiar with the product...kaya medyo nahihirapan kame... dunno how to start it.
hmm...all very interesting, lalo na yung tubong lugaw na prawns! hehe. right now kasi we have our "little" advertising/graphic design shop, business is ok but i'm looking for something "low-maintenance," something you set-up and can leave, i-check lang 1-2x a week.. so far kasi we're enjoying what we're doing and still have a regular clientele, but for one of our client na bank for SMEs we encounter success stories na tipong sobrang liit lang then through hard work and prayers and some insights, BOOM! kaka-inspire![]()

growing prawns is not that easy. trust been there and lost all of it. yes if you might hit it big time, but bear in mind that this is one of the major cause of the problems here in the visayas.
it looks easy in cultivating it but then a lot of people went bankrupt because of it here.
just to give you an idea, you need a generator, land more than 5 hectares to be viable, a lot of money to buy feeds, medicine, people you can trust, water pumps, paddle wheels. and the money to pay your monthly electric bills.
+1. daming 'abandoned' fishponds(or do you call them prawn ponds? hehe) sa visayas.Originally Posted by ARB

ganito kasi sitwasyon:
Internet shops outside of malls is a dying business... Don't enter a business where your pricing power is very weak... Ngayon labanan dyan pababaan ng hourly rates... And with the advent of net books more and more people have their own access thus limiting the appeal of Internet shops.
I was in the computer/internet rental business for over five years before I gave up on it.
The business model is currently flawed because of high overhead expenses like electricity, rental of shop space, employee salary, various government red-tape, etc.
If you have air-conditioning, that greatly increases your electric bill.
The price per hour to rental a PC is currently too low, from P10 to P20 per hour.
And if you cater to gamers, you'll need to upgrade your computers every two years or so just to remain competitive.
Add to that, the problem of theft and robbery. This would include the problems of pick-pocket (wallets/celfone), hold-up, and actual theft of the shop's equipment (including part and whole PCs).
If you open in the malls, you can charge P50/hour but your rental cost skyrockets to the sky. Plus the hours of the mall is very short, typically 10:00am to 8:00pm only.
Now sa probinsya it might work... You might add some services like fax, printing, scanning etc. to increase revenue...
sa 300k pwede ka na mag buy and sell ng kotse...mag umpisa ka sa isa ;)...pwede na rin ito sa food cart business...bili ka ng Entrepreneur mag to get ideas...
200k carwash business...
My 2 centavos lang....
Pasukan mo yung business you're familiar with. Something related to your line of work or hobby. It's important you understand the aspects and of course, the risk.
Kung wala, then you have to find a partner that does, othewise...franchise is the best option. Meron franchise list ang "The Entrepreuneur" magazine....I think it's either July or August issues. There should be several businesses ranging your budget.
actually, you'll be safe with food business. basta maganda ang location mo, then maganda ang presentation, presto. kita agad.
honestly, rich dad poor dad series made me think. even read other books like retire rich retire young, cash flow quadrant, etc.
always start small. also provide a good customer service. one of the secret ingredients of a successful business...![]()
Start with your hobbies/skills or whatever you're good at then bank on it.
If that doesn't work (although usually it does), then look for feasibility studies or books on how to do business if you're not a natural businessman.
Never test the depth of the water with both feet.
Importante sa lahat ay ejoy ka sa negosyong papasukan mo para you dont feel like working at all... lets say you always want to be online para makapagtsikot hehehe, pwede ka mag internet cafe lalo na kung gusto mo na ikaw mismo ang magmamanage.
ive been doing business since i was 13-14, im handling some of our business... and hindi sa nagdiscourage ah, pero when you do business, make sure na may funds ka for running loss ng 3mos at least, and personal gastos for 6mos... kung giveup mo day job mo...
biggest problem is not marketing, sales, or operations... but HR! human resources... trust me... my friends and i always talk about how to handle people... pamatay yun linya na "boss may sakit ang anak ko..." "wala na kaming matuluyan..." etc... masakit nun is totoo siya... you have to have funds for employee loans... you staff is your biggest asset...
Kwento ko lang....
Yung family namin are into beauty salons/parlor business. We're in this business for almost 20 years na. We ventured out initially sa isang branch sa Cubao/Araneta Center. Nag-boom naman and little we did know we made it to 6 branches within that area. For a small capital, we started out mga ilang silya, salamin at mga gamit and eventually, thru God's blessings na din, eh lumago naman. I manage yung mga technical aspects like electricals and repairs of equipment, also mga purchasing/delivery ng supplies.
Pero recently, we downsized to a couple of branch to give way sa Gateway Mall construction. And now that mall is operational, we were offerred to have a unit there pero napakataas ng dues. So we decided na lumipat ng iba place within Araneta.
The most important thing sa business is meron kang knowhow, like my mom/titas, they've been in the business some decades ago, started out just an ordinary employee and now an entrepreneur. Kaya recently we're slowly venturing to other business as well like cars/van rentals and lending. Might also consider I-net cafe since I work in the IT field naman kaya no problem sa knowhow, timing lang kami sa place and of course, budget.
Given that budget, am pretty sure you have a lot of things in mind right now. Always keep in mind lang na bago mo pasukin yun is you know a lot of that thing already.
Good luck po whatever that business is.....![]()
