kaya mo mabuhay kahit no work?

Like I said the extra money is not worth risking your health for...

Nagwo work sa office, hindi naman mahihirap like street vendors, parking boys or other jobs na talagang physical at no work no pay so they can afford to stay at home (good if paid by company, if not bawas sa VL)

I lead more than 60 people with two deputies.

I wish I could just tell them not to report every day until this is gone.

    But our work is essential.

WFH na kami until end of year, nung May pa sinabi. So far I was sent a Smart postpaid pocket wifi and a brand new monitor. Now we were told in the coming months they will send something that has to do with ergonomic set up, maybe a chair? Sakto nagtitingin tingin ako at hindi pa nakakabili. [emoji16] I'm also thinking if they're spending for these (ang dami namin ah) maybe projected na that the wfh set up will be extended until next year.

    bad for brick&mortar retail

    bad for the restaurant industry
    3 -- remote work/wfh

    bad for commercial real estate

    bad for business travel

Work from home, I think so too, dati privilege lang samin yan (and for HR approval) for officers but companies saw that we can function naman kahit lahat WFH. But I don't think mababawan masyado business travel kasi you travel nga precisely because your task or output requires face to face interaction

Pero impressed talaga ako how the company was able to grant WFH access to all employees in less than one week in March.

Most companies built their network infrastructure keeping in mind that a situation requires a big portion of its staff to work from home. I can only say this for most multinational organizations.

Speaking from a local IT head perspective, it is just like turning on the settings to allow connectivity from the open internet (homes or mobile phones) to your company’s systems and platforms.

For those companies that did not invest in infrastructure that will allow remote access, it is a big wake up call. It could be a tipping point wherein it can define the fall of its service capability.

Prior to pandemic ang sabi samin yung wfh regulated ng peza kaya dinidiscourage kaming magtrabaho sa bahay even if we can. Ang design niya is kapag nagdeclare ng BCP ang company (sunog, lindol, bagyo), which if they do, there will be a premium pay to the staff (kaya hindi basta basta nagdedeclare). Now wfh na kami until end of year (without BCP declaration), aside sa safety, to also maximize na din the approval / permit we have which is until end of year.

BPO ka ba LM? I think it has something to do with companies na classified as BPO kasi that was the reason my friend gave me kaya wala silang WFH (pre pandemic).

If you belong to a multinational organization, chances are that they have invested on the necessary infrastructure to support offsite work. Multinational companies can’t just operate on a site outside its headquarters if it does not have the capability to extend its network remotely. Even better for multinational companies that are in the financial services and IT consulting industries.

Okay so because the table and chair that I'm using at home are not ergonomic, I can buy a proper set up, including a mouse and a keyboard and the company will reimburse me 450 USD.
