    paninira lang yan

kayang kaya i-handle ng Metrobank mga withdrawals.

And even if sobra laki ang withdrawals, the Bangko Sentral will come to the aid of Metrobank.

    Metrobank is fine.

It just has exposure to Lehman... P2.4B lang naman... no big deal.

    Shadow,

The text message is not true.

I should know first hand, than text messages or any news.

I hope you get what I mean.

Actually it was somewhat true pero controlled na. Its actually Metrobanks fault, inannounce kasi nila sa PSE that "WE are filing for receivership...." so nagkaroon ng panic kala nila Metrobank is filing for bakruptcy. What they meant is since Metrobank is Lehman Brother's CREDITOR they are going to file for Lehman's receivership in the Philippines para naman baka meron silang marecover. So a simple wrong use of English created a panic. Comedy talaga. Pero bottomline is ITS NOT TRUE.

may ganyang tisismis din sa BDO kasi sila may biggest exposure sa Lehman. pero i don't believe it too. somehow i believe the pronouncements of these banks and BSP. iba naman case ng investment banks and banks that have depositors (holdings ba tawag dun?).

anyway, metrobank, rcbc and bdo are in the top 5 dito sa pinas. so i think the bsp won't allow any of them to collapse. sana...

Well governments can always print money as a last resort so yes no one is going under every creditor will be paid. I would be worried about your money's value though

waaahhh... nagpa-panic kanina sa office dahil dito. My boss after hearing it from a friend immediately when to MB to withdraw from his account. My other boss did that as well. Me, being worried, told my dad about it. Grandpa's shop's bank account is in MB, so we all became worried. Dunno if they did pull out the account from MB as my dad instructed to do it kanina.

    Nakakapraning...

But could it be, have the slightest possibility to happen?

    Metrobank is NOT in trouble.

Kiliti lang sa Metrobank ung exposure nya kay Lehman...

    Metrobank WILL NOT fail.

And the Bangko Sentral WILL NOT allow Metrobank to fail.

small portion lang yung invested ng metrobank sa lehman.
mas malaki yung investment ng metrobank sa toyota and toyota is making money for them everyday.

    that goes for BDO too.

kung wala pang P250k ang pera sa banko, huwag mag-panic.
    insured yan ng PDIC.

It will not collapse, guys stop this nonsensical talks of collapse and bank run, its all just speculation without basis.

Besides not even one of the local banks is heavily affected, most of their exposure was just 0.1 - 1 percent of their respective assets.

I have accounts and fund investment in MB, but never ako nag-panic

Sabi nga ni ULS sa post niya sa itaas "kiliti lang"
