paninira lang yan
kayang kaya i-handle ng Metrobank mga withdrawals.
And even if sobra laki ang withdrawals, the Bangko Sentral will come to the aid of Metrobank.
Metrobank is fine.
It just has exposure to Lehman... P2.4B lang naman... no big deal.Last edited by uls; September 22nd, 2008 at 03:26 PM.

Shadow,
The text message is not true.
I should know first hand, than text messages or any news.
I hope you get what I mean.

Actually it was somewhat true pero controlled na. Its actually Metrobanks fault, inannounce kasi nila sa PSE that "WE are filing for receivership...." so nagkaroon ng panic kala nila Metrobank is filing for bakruptcy. What they meant is since Metrobank is Lehman Brother's CREDITOR they are going to file for Lehman's receivership in the Philippines para naman baka meron silang marecover. So a simple wrong use of English created a panic. Comedy talaga. Pero bottomline is ITS NOT TRUE.

September 22nd, 2008 05:16 PM #9may ganyang tisismis din sa BDO kasi sila may biggest exposure sa Lehman. pero i don't believe it too. somehow i believe the pronouncements of these banks and BSP. iba naman case ng investment banks and banks that have depositors (holdings ba tawag dun?).
anyway, metrobank, rcbc and bdo are in the top 5 dito sa pinas. so i think the bsp won't allow any of them to collapse. sana...

Well governments can always print money as a last resort so yes no one is going under every creditor will be paid. I would be worried about your money's value though
Thanks. Hope this new one will work out better for you. Sent from my SM-T970 using Tsikot...
