You can afford not to work though. I got so stressed out just reading what you said na in your industry, if you take a long vacation, you don't know if there's still a job waiting for you.
Crush can afford not to work too. He can work for his Dad's company but he wants a separate corporate job. It's very admirable, people that are innately masipag![]()
Personal choice yan. Some people will forego free time for the sake of corporate advancement.
One of my corporate idols got to his VP position despite having a 5pm hard close every day, and weekends are strictly no-work days.
He also took a pretty long vacay last year to spend the holidays in Europe with his family. Whole December he was out.
If you make family time part of your non-negotiables, you might progress less quickly than those who go all out on their career, but if you ask me, that's a more balanced way to live.

Swerte nang corp idol mo. Napagbigyan sya nang company. I guess it also boils down sa culture.

The culture is personal eh. Same company, we have people who prioritize career over other things talaga. I guess the nice thing is that you can always go at your own pace and style, as long as you deliver the numbers.
Before I got into the company, my friend who had been working here since graduation told me that it was very stressful, that it will always eat your time, etc etc. But 1 year into the job and I actually feel quite comfortable as I can work only when I feel like doing so, and I always have my weekends as personal time.
I think the key is to really put your foot down and draw the line on how much you want work to consume your life, otherwise it will swallow you whole.

I cannot not work. If i stop working i will end up like your 50+ yr old friendand that would be the 7th level of hell for me

Amen to that, bro! I like going to work as it keeps me with a purpose. I will be bored if I just stay at home, unless I live across a golf course. However, at work, I keep myself facing challenges each day and thus help me keep my mind functioning.

It is never too late to start, bro. You can always take it easy. Some folks I know started playing in their 40s.
If you play too much, it’s not your back to watch out for when playing golf. It’s the knees that takes a lot of stress with the twisting and long walking.

Matindi din daw kumita yung mga vloggers/youtubers

Yes. That is on top of the salary from views. I watched a youtuber with 10k+ subscribers only and she gets an equivalent of 10k-13k average per month. Most big Filipino youtubers have at least 100k subs and around that much views per video. Just imagine the money they are raking in pa vlog vlog lang. hahaha! Yung pinapanood ko wala nga editing sa videos nya. She just shoots her daily life.
My youngest son's favorite youtube channel - Ryan's Toy Review- has 11 million subscribers.
He earned USD11 million in 2017.
He also watches another toy reviewer - a Filipino one. I assume that family is the one from Laguna who reported earns a lot also from youtube.
BTW Ryan (of Ryan's Toy Review) looks every bit a Filipino but is based in North America.
