BPI and SBC's issues are both caused by "bugs of newly installed software".
I don;t know the reason for those bugs...maybe lack of QA, review, etc.
    No fraud or whatsoever.

come on, every IT practitioner knows that a new software is tested several times in a test server which is a mirror of the production server.
lalo na s banks na very strict yun protocol na yan

    Agree.
And every IT practitioner knows that there is no perfect and bug-free software.
Realistically speaking, it's difficult to think of and test ALL possible scenarios that may happen in production.
And there is also the human error factor. Maybe on the deployment process, database part, network issues, etc.

From my friend, may notification sa kanya si BPI of fraudulent activities using her CC

called up BPI, may mga successful transactions:

    Dineactivate na yung card niya

    Hopefully ma-reverse yung fraudulent transaction

eh glitch lang yan doc. Madali maicorrect.

Nakukuha CVV at iba pang details by magic. Minsan sa online payment options na di secure.

Speaking of CVV hacking -- got this message recently --

"Your online transaction at xxxx for USD xxxx.00 using your BDO xxxx mastercard ending in xxxx has been declined due to incorrect 3 digit security code provided. Please review your credit card details properly upon payment."

The transaction originated in California. And I never use this card for any online transaction. Maybe it's time to get rid of the CVV setup, and just use something like a OTP (One time password) for ever online transaction??? CVV is not safe. Easy to see, easy to get, easy to use in fraud.

Happened to a friend too. Card was skimmed, then social engineering to other details.

The new BPI app allows for a preset transaction that requires OTP. Mas secure nga talaga OTP.

With PNB you cannot transact w/o an OTP a bit irritating sometimes when my roaming fails but a very minor inconvenience than lossing money.

I have no problem with OTP kahit I am overseas mabilis dumating sa registered mobile number ko. Ok din yung finger print scan to log in sa online banking.
