dami nyan. nakapost pa yung cheque na nakukuha nila.

anyway, another point that I want to raise is kapag ginawa mong pangkabuhayan yung passion mo, once you lose the passion, you lose your livelihood. may chance pa na maquestion mo ang existence mo sa mundo.

isipin mo na lang na hindi ikaw yung isa sa mga "untouchable" sa india.

If you're really adventurous, create your own company and make your own vehicle. Example: a Jut Jeep.

Very risky. Wala pa atang local vehicle na nag-succeed. Sarao, FMC, Conge and others failed. I wonder what happened to Bar Stunner and his sports car?

Some of us in Tsikot tried. Walang nangyari. This micro car* was my last design contribution to the group:

    * - Chassis designed by Oyil.

One thing not done in RP yet is the stamping of car body panels to replace the damage prone areas of the car when it gets into a fender bender and stamping of replacements for corrosion prone body components. Another is parts remanufacturing. With so many unemployed skilled workers who are willing to take $12 a day, that is cheap.

1st requirement ay engine and transmission.

If you are sourcing your engine and transmission from a 3rd party hindi lalago ang negosyo mo.

I need also an opinion on this....I recently graduated from college last May 5, with a degree course in business studies, right away after that I applied on a car dealership (Hyundai) near our place and I was hired (currently working on my requirments na so that I can start) ok lang ba to as first job? or there's anything you can recommend? Well, gusto ko rin naman kasi to since I also have interest in automotive and also I took a technical course in automotive years ago.

    ^

Hyundai what branch? And what department? Sales or service?

Yeah, its a good starter job. At least you're earning your keep. Try to look for greener pastures though.

IMHO, hyundai ok lang na first job but I would seriously go for Toyota honda companies. They hold more relevance sa corporate world.

Around how much is the capital to start this? Am thinking malaki rin exposure niya since those rims aren't on consignment.

I don't have any capital yet so I'm thinking of starting small first..

His shop doesnt look even remotely extravagant so it should be reasonable. But he markets himself very well and gets customers everyday. He sells at least two sets of mags a day. If he makes 20k net per sale (reasonable considering retail margins are roughly 30% and these mags sell 80k plus)m that means he makes 40k net a day multiplied by around 25 days......you get the picture.

His marketing is very effective. Search for his shop in facebook.

Come to think of it, being an ahente is great training to become a businessman one day.

It teaches you how to sell, how to deal with clients, how to find suppliers, etc etc.

Actually ganyan ginawa ng isang pinsan ko. From car sales, he now deals auto insurance and financing. Bec of his contacts, yung mga agents niya can also sell cars from almost all brands. Di na siya lumayo sa auto industry afterfinding success in sales

Met Beeboy Bargas of Top Gear/Land Rover Club PH today. We had a good chat over lunch and I asked him what it's like as a journalist in the auto industry.

His first words were - "Walang pera dito", then went on to illustrate how little they really make for each article.

It's also full of politics and controversy - apparently factions between journalists are quite common.

The best perk though is being in the frontline of the developments in our local auto industry, and developing a sphere of influence to your reader base. It also gets you really well-connected to tuning shops, manufacturers, etc.

But it's really not a lucrative career and you won't be able to raise a family with a comfortable lifestyle. But for those who have the blessing of time and love cars, it's a good sideline on top of your primary business.

Beeboy's a fun guy to go on trips with. Always lots to talk about... and I don't think I've ever had a boring shoot with him on board. ;)

And that's all it can ever be, unless you're one of the lucky few who gets a good paying editorial position (and by that time, with your age as you get that post, you could be making more elsewhere) or who has rackets on the side (Sir Butch Rey Gamboa) or his/her own production company / publication.

    -

Also, politics sucks. Gets so, sometimes, that you don't know who you can safely say "hi" to. Me, I don't care... I'm your friend until you don't want me to be.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I agree, I learned a lot from him in our trip yesterday. Not a dull moment. Plus his exhibition yesterday with the Rubicon on a deer farm was lots of fun.

You'd think he's just a 4x4 specialist but he actually knows his stuff across the entire smorgasbord of car flavors. I do hope to meet more car gurus in the future

It's really cool what being involved in the auto industry teaches you, but you really have to be covered financially beforehand or else you'll end up a hungry enthusiast. Lucky for Beeboy, he's making a living out of his 4x4 expertise. And owning some farms helps, too. 😁
