Clark green city is the future daw. Are the lands there open for the public or lease under BCDA lang?

Tagaytay was a nice place for a quick get away up until the early 2000s. My friends and I used to go there on a whim back in college. But now that's not possible anymore. I rarely go to Tagaytay na.

Once I was craving for Rowena's tarts (came from sta rosa/silang) and I turned back home na lang kasi sobrang traffic!

Yeah they really need to fix the roads going there and in tagaytay itself. The traffic is horrendous.

Pagod ka going there and pagod ka going back. Whats the point of R&R?

I used to enjoy driving to Tagaytay then those twisties going downhill to Talisay to our observatory. Now if ever I bring my car, either I go very early (as in 3-5AM) or go via the Star Toll then go uphill via Talisay.

Alfonso is a nice place. Cool, peaceful provincial life. Proximity to Tagaytay. Lots of trees & birds. I just don’t like too many insects around, especially at night. An alternate route to Manila is through Crisanto Reyes Ave in Amadeo. Not a lot of tourist know that route. Takes you down to,Gen Tri, Governors Drive.

I lived alone in a house along Amadeo for about 6 months and I spent my free time killing the termites. 🤣🤣🤣

I also think the place is a "deathtrap".

Parang 2 lang possible evacuation routes- either head away to Nasugbu, Batangas or back down to the Northern part of Cavite. Other routes will take you around the periphery of the volcano which probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to do.

If traffic's a nightmare now, imagine a scenario where everybody in the city would be trying to get away.

    ===
Assuming for the sake of argument that Tagaytay's a "safe" distance away...

After the `91 eruption (Pinatubo), many property values in affected areas in Region 3 (Central Luzon) became (relatively) worthless. Unless of course you were in the gravel & sand business, or a corrupt politician who made dirty money from all the "dike" projects put up afterwards...

Point ko lang naman is, anlaki ng buong Pilipinas, there's so many places to invest in. Magiinvest ka na nga lang, bakit yun pang mga property sa may bulkan or malapit sa fault line

Its not an assumption. Its a fact. Pinatubo can't be an analogy for reasons of topography, of disater awareness/preparedness and volcano eruption behaviour. The most Tagaytay will likely experience is an ashfall, and then probably be only a few millimeters. An annoyance at most. And even then wind patterns will make it unlikely. Like I posted above before buying property, ask the authorities or even Google for the hazard maps of the area.

Anyway back on topic, if the purpose of the condo is to earn money via rent, then I would probably buy one near the financial districts. Tourists are undependable. Digong keeps bringing up moving government offices to Clark so that could be an emerging market.

The danger faced by Tagaytay is not the volcano (beautiful view of an eruption though) since its already more than 10-15km away, but the Big One (earthquake). The West Valley Fault is just south of it.

Though I'd be more worried of water shortages. Thats usually a problem for similar cities at high altitides like Baguio.

Marami kasing tao romanticizing yun idea na magkaroon ng rest House dahil sa mga napapanood nila sa Movies.

Hinde nila na realized yun Maintenance and expenses that comes with it.

put the money earmarked for buying a condo unit, in the bank with special fund program.
the interest alone should pay for at least one visit a month.
    and no headaches.

    +1 on this.

Unless you're super rich at wala ka nang magawa sa pera mo, DON"T buy a resthouse.

Sooner or later, sawa ka na rin pumunta saan man yun, and you still have to spend money on it.

    Hotel is better.

    Wala na sakit ulo pagkatapos.
