February 1st, 2014 10:13 AM #1Roxas Boulevard traffic advisory
Manila, Philippines – Motorists are advised that traffic along Roxas Boulevard between T.M. Kalaw and P. Burgos will be rerouted on certain dates and times from Feb. 2 to 12 for the Shell Eco-marathon Asia which will be held at the Rizal Park in Manila. This is a joint project of Shell companies in the Philippines, Department of Tourism and the City Government of Manila.
For Feb. 2 to 5 (from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.) and February 10 to 12 (12 midnight and 4 a.m.), northbound motorists heading to the Port Area will have to turn right to T.M. Kalaw, then left to Maria Orosa, then left to P. Burgos (or via Intramuros) and then right to Bonifacio Drive.
For the whole day of Feb. 2 to 12, southbound motorists going to Pasay area will have to turn left to P. Burgos, then right to Maria Orosa, then right to T.M. Kalaw and then left to Roxas Boulevard.
Shell Eco-marathon began in 1939 at a Shell research laboratory in the United States as a friendly wager between scientists to see who could get the most miles per gallon from their vehicle. The winner of that contest barely achieved 50 mpg (21 km/l) and from these humble origins, a more organized competition evolved.
