Replacement Car Alarm

Hi everybody.

I have a 97 Accord with a defective door lock/alarm remote. I was just wondering if it is better to replace the whole alarm system/door lock with aftermarket brands or just buy a replacement remote from Honda.

Suggestions welcome.
