mga tsikoteers, di ko sure kung dito tamang thread o sa wrokshop since mas more on electronics tong inquiry ko kaya dito ko nalang pinost..

my dad told me na another way to protect a car from being carnapped ay hugutin daw yung connection sa starter everytime na iiwan mo sa parking, kasi kahit basagin yung salamin, at susian ng carnapper ng kung anuman o rektahan di magsstart talaga yung makina at di rin niya agad maiisip na nakahugot yung connection sa starter dahil unlikely naman na ganoon ang gagawing ng may-ari.. so napaisip ako na pwede nga siguro yun kaso laging hassle kasi tuwing pagkapark mo, bubuksan mo pa yung hood tapos huhugutin mo pa tapos pagbalik mo bukas nanaman hood tapos ikabit ulit.. so what if magpacustomize nalang kaya ako ng switch sa loob ng kotse na nakatago (yung switch na pangradyo yung parang kambyo) na on and off function siya na haharang sa daloy ng connection sa starter.. pwede kaya yun o imposible? thanks..

Sa mga EFI na makina, madali lang. Mag series ng switch sa fuel pump. Mag start pero ititirik after a few meters.

High current ang starter kaya medyo mahirap ma implement.

Totally possible. Old school engine immobilizer. Just add a (hidden) switch which cuts off either the ignition or electric fuel pump.

Just make sure to hide the switch well, like at the back of the ash-tray or hidden portion of the dashboard or glove-box. It could even be the unused switch (example, rear defogger switch even if your car is not equipped with rear window defoggers).

+1 on the fuel pump switch. Easy to DIY.

Hide the switch in a sneaky manner... maybe as a button on the radio?

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Turn on radio to start the car? Turn off the radio and the car stalls.

    Yup.

What's the first instinct a carnapper will have when the car stalls?

Turn off the lights, turn off the radio, and try to start the car...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

My cousins DIY'ed their BMW Z3 and Porsche Boxster to have a kill switch.

And they used OEM-looking switches in plain sight [thieves will most likely look for a hidden switch]

Bad idea to use a radio button as a kill switch. If he gets the radio, you won't be able to start the car unless you have it mended.

Otep is right on the money, make the switch blend into the surrounding switches. Those German cars though will poke fun at the thief as he tries to fumble for the right switch

This usually entails using one of the ready slots that initially have nothing and install a factory switch but change the function. Just don't forget to tell whoever drives the car that there's a kill switch. Otherwise baka sabihin nasiraan.

maxima ko has a kill switch for the magnetic-switch for the carb and the electronic fuel pump..location: *secret!

kaya reregundo ang makina, pero di tatakbo kasi walang fuel... one time nakalimutan ko "turn-on" ung switch, nagulat nalang ako nagpatawag ng electrician na mom ko!

buti nalang napansin ko agad...kaya nilagay ko na sa "on" yung switch.. then umandar agad...
    -----------------

So bago sumakay ng sasakyan, open muna yung fuel filler door, set the switch saka pa lang sasakay.

All our vehicles new and old have this fuel pump switch for extra safety. Pero yung 07 strada ko, di namin malagyan. We tried taking the plugged wires sa fuel pump pero nagsstart parin. medyo pinatagal ko ng konti na nakastart pero tumatakbo parin at hindi namamatay. tanong ko lang if this is normal for newer cars. kasi yung 2005 innova ng kaibigan ko meron din switch, gumagana naman.

Just make sure that the connector and the switch you use are reliable.... Else, ikaw naman ang magkakamot ng ulo....

pwede kaya manual immobilizer?
