Actually, instantaneous ang response ng drive-by-wire. Any inherent delays are designed and controlled by the ECM (ie. "rev-hang"), depending on the current driving conditions.
The pedal-to-throttle ratio is not always 1:1. This is very prominent sa A/T with drive-by-wire. If you put the pedal to the metal while in D, you will notice that the engine rev will "hang" near where the next shift point is, giving you a smoother transition to the next gear with little shift-shock and engine still within its powerband.
Kung 1:1 yun and you take off at WOT, you will experience a lot of shift-shock and hindi magtatagal yung A/T.
