There is another thread where this was discussed (but I can't find it).

Anyway, a basic way would be to wire a switch to your fuel pump or ignition coil. Just have the switch hidden but still easy to reach when you are at the wheel. One way to have it hidden is to use an existing blank switch position on your dashboard.

An immobiliser is an electronic device, which automatically shuts down essential systems in your car (such as the ignition, fuel pump, starter circuit or engine management system) so that it cannot be driven away powered by its own engine.

Immobilizers are generally regarded as chips embedded in the key of the vehicle which need to be validated by the vehicle security system in order to start the engine.

Most alarms come with a starter kill which renders the starter inoperative as long as the system is armed.

The simplest method would be a kill switch which kills the fuel pump or starter (as previously posted). My cousins in L.A. did that to their Z3 and Boxster. But instead of hiding the switches, they just put them in plain sight using OEM-looking switches.
