*Siren or its wires should not be reachable from under the vehicle with the hood closed.
*Alarm ECU under the dash should be easily reachable.
*Effort must be made to make the add-on wires of the alarm look OEM. Otherwise, it would be easy to trace/bypass them. You can disguise them with tape or wire dressing or anything just make it look integral.
*ECU's with integral shock sensors should be mounted on something solid if possible. Avoid letting it 'float' in the maze of wires under the dash as it decreases sensor sensitivity.
*If your system has a separate shock sensor, mount it on a very solid piece of the vehicle body.
*Adjust shock sensor sensitivity properly. This can take experimentation.
*Install the iginition kill system. A lot of installers do not install this and keep the wiring for the ignition kill for themselves. Make sure they install this. You can test this by trying to start the car with the system armed. The alarm should sound and the starter will not engage (click, click lang).

san po ba makikita usually yung alarm? gusto ko kasi makita kung saan yung switch para madisable yung alarm kaso hindi ko alam kung san nakalagay yung alarm. thanks.

About siren reprogramming, does anybody knows how to reprogram the siren of my car alarm? Viper brand.
It has 6 tones and I would like to have 1 tone only. Can this be done on a do it yourself? Ala kasing description sa manual kung pano gawin...

Sabi dun sa manual ko ng Viper300 at Viper800, authorized dealer ang pwede magre-program. Walang mention ng DIY reprogramming, eh.

*Remote starter [if equipped] - to warm up engine while you're still in the garage. As a bonus, if you leave the a/c switch on, the cabin will also be cool by the time you board the vehicle.
*Not only to deter thieves but to stop them [if equipped] - ignition kill, fuel pump kill, etc.
*Panic alarm - to draw attention towards you and your vehicle should the situation arise.
*Auto lock - after you start the engines, all the doors will lock. Just what the forgetful guys need.
*Can be used to control sunroof/windows/trunk/hatch - if so equipped

Kung wala, the Banawe boys can fab one up for you. Nung hindi ko pa alam na may office ang Autopage sa Pilipinas, nagpagawa lang ako ng transmitter sa Jaffas sa Banawe. Sandali lang ginawa. While you wait lang. Almost 7 years ko nang gamit, wala naman paltos. Ang pangit na lang. Kulay gray lang na may dalawang round buttons.

Yes, kung Autopage ang alarm mo you can get that from any shop that sells Autopage alarms. That is if you dont want to go to BlueLazer (or whatever the distro's name is here) yourself. AFAIK, any shop that is an official seller of Autopage should have spare remotes or can order and program you as many as you like.

this afternoon kc nabiktima kami bukas kotse gang sa tapat ng jolibee sa gma, cavite.. wala pa kc kming alarm. manual lang talaga. naka lock nmn ng iwan nmin pro nbuksan p rin tlga nila..

ayoko n nangyari samin knna.. nawala lahat ng school documents namin (id, reg.form, lib.card,lab card, sci.calcu, money, birth cartfc8) buti na lang ay hindi kinuha stereo namin.. talagang bag lang kinuha na panay valuables nga lang.. buti nga dala namin celphones nmin kya mbuti rin talaga at di na CARNAP..

Yes, even with an alarm, mabubuksan pa rin ang car mo. Of course, magiingay nga lang yung car kapag nabuksan na ang door niya. The alarm will not prevent your doors from being picked or masungkit, pero it will deter theives kasi mapapansin sila ng guard or ng owner kapag nagingay na ito.

No, cars are not 100% safe even with alarms. Most of us now dont even pay attention to cars whose alarms are activated. May isang thread dito which described na the thieves papaalarm muna nila yung car (like by hitting it first) then they'l watch if anyone will come, kung wala, they'll proceed with opening the car and stealing.

Another modus operandi I heard is for the theives to pretend they own the car and they locked their keys inside, so they may even get the guards to help them get inside the car.

No such thing as 100% safe. they'll always be a way because people are smarter than inventions. Of course, we can make it a little bit harder for them with these devices.

for me, I just like the convenience of the keyless entry

ako rin code alarm, di ko alam kung nagloloko or di lang ako marunong gumamit. Parang sobrang sensitive I have to keep it in valet mode or kung hindi sobrang ingay kapag iniwan mo lang. It's a 97 civic lxi.

Sometimes when I try to lock it after leaving the car (using remote, "ARM"), ayaw. Kahit anong lapit ko. Ganun din kapag DISARM. I have to manually use the key to lock & unlock the car. Pero may minsan (bihira) na gumagana naman siya ng tama, kahit medyo 3-4 cars away pa ako, when I press DISARM, it works. Do I just have to replace the battery or is something really wrong?

When I first bought it last week, di naman siya maingay. Then one time I tried to ARM it and it didn't work.. so medyo experimentally pindot pindot lang ako nung alarm while still inside & outside the car but I couldn't figure it out. Then I figured out where the valet switch & programming button was and tried pressing those... Eto na ang nangyari, maingay na, laging nag aalarm, konting trip lang tunog agad..

Yung car alarm ko, it has an auto lock feature (I read the manual!). Yun ata yung sinasabi mo quiksie, yung naglolock mag isa after 1 minute or so.

what brand does have all these features? or most of the features you mentioned? mahal siguro ano? yung nakakabit kasi sa kin e walang alarm, basta auto-lock/unlock lang ang function niya. i guess it needs some adjustment, dalhin ko na lang sa shop. cobra ang nakatatak sa remote.
