for bm5er,philander &other tropa asking info abt the "Global Tech" it worth 15k w/c will serve as the ultimate security for your hard-earned car,the price is no match compare to various "burluloys" we keep installing on our cars. i asure you bibilib&masisiyahan ka pag nakita&nasubukan mo ang security&safety features nito. you must see&test it! taga-nova.qc ako &sa naess bldg, leon guinto pag daytime.
im sure all of the alarms right now has a remote, but i've seen one car whose alarm can also set-on and off by they key..(oh im sure that it has to remote too..but this is cool)
hehe once you lock the door by using the key, it also engages the alarm automatically (though im not sure if alarms are like this one im describing)
the global tech im talking about is not actually an alarm,(but it has powerful siren too) its a car immobilizer(anti-carnap device). i think everybody knows that even "top of the line-car alarms" is 'wa epek' to a car theft! ofkurs keyless entry nga naman.

A GSM car alarm like Txtalert can even be a better option. Enabling and disabling alarm features can be done via SMS or misscall. Has a reporting system wnenever the alarm has been triggered. Immobilizer/mobilizer can be done also via SMS so its an anti-carjacking/carnapping device, and hiram-free alarm. Can be connected with your current radio alarm and can be used along side.
does anyone have the contact number or address of Audiovox, which installs the Prestige Car alarm. When I got my car at Ford Makati 3 years ago, they installed this car alarm - Prestige by Audiovox. Nasira na yung 2 remote ko so I'm looking for their office para mapalitan sana yung remote ko.
Thanks...

About siren reprogramming, does anybody knows how to reprogram the siren of my car alarm? Viper brand.
It has 6 tones and I would like to have 1 tone only. Can this be done on a do it yourself? Ala kasing description sa manual kung pano gawin...
From what Yebo did:
And from what I read from my car alarm catalog and manual, it appears that the siren's tones arent dependent on the car alarm's main unit. It's dependent on the siren. My car alarm kasi had a catalog, and it included a 6-tone and a 3-tone siren. I was given the impression that if we want to change the tone, we just change the siren.
Im not sure if it'l work with the talking Viper alarms, pero I think it might. One of the few things na nabago lang naman sa Viper was the talking "Arm" and "Disarm" features. You can purchase new sirens sa Ace Hardware or Handyman auto section. If it doesnt cost much, maybe you can try connecting them and see.
so how do you guys actually determine if the installation is great? any pointers?
*Siren or its wires should not be reachable from under the vehicle with the hood closed.
*Alarm ECU under the dash should be easily reachable.
*Effort must be made to make the add-on wires of the alarm look OEM. Otherwise, it would be easy to trace/bypass them. You can disguise them with tape or wire dressing or anything just make it look integral.
*ECU's with integral shock sensors should be mounted on something solid if possible. Avoid letting it 'float' in the maze of wires under the dash as it decreases sensor sensitivity.
*If your system has a separate shock sensor, mount it on a very solid piece of the vehicle body.
*Adjust shock sensor sensitivity properly. This can take experimentation.
*Install the iginition kill system. A lot of installers do not install this and keep the wiring for the ignition kill for themselves. Make sure they install this. You can test this by trying to start the car with the system armed. The alarm should sound and the starter will not engage (click, click lang).
