Blackbox DVR/Dashcam

Sold my car. Along with the dashcam as a pseudo freebie. Thinking of upgrading. I'm leaning towards capacitor dashcams.

Either A118C, G1W-C, or Drive Pro 200.

DP200 if you have the money. Better night recording and AFAIK all transcend dashcams come with 2-year warranty.

Yung sj4k ko gamit ko since Nov 2014, araw-araw na gamit sa oto at sa motor ko.

In the end, parang namimili rin lang ng sasakyan, depende na sa budget at requirements..

SJCAM users philippines.

Wala masyado aftersales service sa sjcam. Meron lang talaga mga trusted sellers and repair persons.

Just to give you a background, 800 pesos lang ang mainboard ng sj4k so mura talaga sya so kung masira man, madali at mura ipagawa

Warning nga pala sa mga naka tanggal battery sa sjcam4000. Pag yung date kasi nareset at puno yung memory card mo ng up to date na videos, hindi sya magsasave dahil dinidiscard nya yung oldest and based sa time stamps yung latest recording mo na maling date ang pinaka luma so ayun dinidelete niya. Applicable rin siguro to sa ibang cam na nagrereset ang date kapag tinanggal battery.

Tinanggal ko kasi battery last time to check kung lumobo na naman. Tapos pag balik ko ng battery nag reset pala yung date na hindi ko napansin. So ayun hindi pala nakakapag save.

gusto ko yung m10+ kasi pwede siyang gamitin na action cam kapag out-of-town trips namin. pero baka mas magandang benefit kung may dedicated dashcam.

Nasa priorities mo yun. Ako yung SJ4000 wifi sana kunin ko, kaso my friends already have their action cams pag mag outing kami saka my smartphone is capable enough kaya nag settle na lang ako for a dedicated Qube X-Cam A7.

Re the Qube A7 on Page 148:

A spare 8GB microsd at 720p yields around 2 hrs of videos. Class 4 lang yun and no noticeable skipping occured. I settled for a 32GB Samsung Class 10 na lang as officially yun lang max nya, but I've tried a 64GB one with no problems

The 1080p HDR mode produces better videos, it is around 450MB per 5 min.

Still pictures are decent, yun nga lang you need to have a power bank or similar kasi the internal battery is just enough for a few minutes. I think di ka pwede kumuha ng stills while on video mode, or I have not explored it enough yet - kelangan stop muna recording before taking pics.

I have the same on my monty which i installed couple of days ago. I'd say the video quality is pretty decent. I tested the 64gb msd and it went fine. Anti reflect lens and gps module/logger is optional which you can buy separately from Qube. For its price at p3990, for me, this one serves its purpose.

sir. sa monty ko rin sana ilalagay yung dashcam. medyo nalalakihan kasi ako dun sa cam, parang nakakailang while driving. another query. proprietary ba yung mount, meaning hindi ba ako pwedeng gumamit ng ibang mount? napost dito some pages back na pwedeng gamitin yung bike post mount ng sjcam cam para imount yung camera sa bracket ng rear view mirror. so if universal mount yung gamit ng qube, baka pwedeng yun na lang ang gamitin. medyo alangan kasi ako sa suction & adhesive-type dahil baka makasira ng tint.

Ang GoPro and clones (SJ4000) is screw type ang mount, while etong X-Cam A7 is square-shaped ang mount, unsure with the A12 and the other model.

May included adhsive mount yung na pwede mo idikit sa likod ng rearview mirror kung ayaw mo ng suction. Ginawa ko is I used the suction cup nakakabit sa mirror mismo.

Alternative mo is Mini 0805 with the same hardware as X-Cam

Nilagay ko sa tint visor using the suction cup, let's see if it holds. Anyways subject for replacement na windshield visor tint ng monty to full tint kasi nagpalagay din ako ng RFID. Sa akin di naman gaano sagabal yung dashcam, siguro sanayan lang. Propriety yung mount kasi connected yung cam sa gps logger connector. O wait, I think pwede kasi may power adaptor port din yung camera itself so it's feasible.

btw. malinaw kaya yung mini or x-cam kapag tinted yung windshield, lalo na sa gabi?

mukhang ok yung mini over x-cam kasi pwedeng idikit ko na lang sa likod ng rear view mirror. night clarity na lang ang problema ko. pero kung may hdr & wdr baka sakali, kung talagang gumagana yung feature na yun.

I can only vouch for the X-Cam, I posted a link of samples in the previous page. Light lang tint ko and malinaw sya

Ang concern ko kasi sa Mini is wala syang physical store for warranty claims. Hindi rin nakakasagabal si X-cam sa akin when driving. Mas maganda para sa akin yung visible ang camera mula sa labas para kotong cops would think twice muna bago gumawa ng kalokohan sa akin, madali naman tanggalin yung cam when parking in insecure places

Di ko masyado napaglaruan yan eh. Masyado na pricey sa akin. Pero basing by the specs eh it should be better

how about your headlight -- stock, HID, LED? malinaw nga sa samples mo.

Windshield ko is with a 3M CS35 light tint, headlights ko is stock H4 halogen 60/55W.

salamat... sana umubra sa 3M BC35/20... not sure kasi kung ginawang 35 yung front windshield pero 20 yung ibang sides.
